High quality and easy DIY install
Very high quality backflow preventer. I replaced same size Febco valve and it fit perfectly. No complaints. Unrelated to the valve, I definitely recommend using pipe dope instead of tape for any threaded connections.

Use very thick plumbers tape
First attempt to install it I used regular (thin) tape, wrapped a bunch, but one side leaked. Second attempt I used plumbers putty— also a mistake that leaked. Third try I paid an extra $2 for super thick plumbers tape and voila! No leaks! Now you can save time and do it right.

Needed to replace our cracked backflow and it wasn’t available at our local Home Depot or Lowe’s stores. You can order it from both sites but it would’ve taken much longer for a higher price. I have Amazon Prime so the free 2-day shipping really was great. We replaced our old one with ease. For perfectly and is working great.

Not for use in potable water systems.
Product was well built and solid. Did what it was supposed to.Unfortunately, I found out that even though I was installing the vacuum breaker on my irrigation system, my municipality requires that the device meet low lead requirements for potable water systems since I was tapping into their drinking water system.Ended up replacing with a substantially more expensive "Low-Lead Law Compliant" Wilkins/Zurn 1-760XL.Fortunately I had ordered the 1-720A on Amazon and was able to return in hassle free for a full refund.

Solid, heavy, the real deal.It's more economical to buy 1" and then 1" to 3/4" PVC adapters than to buy the 3/4" version of the vacuum breaker.I decided against paying 50% more for a frost-safe model because in either case they both should connected with unions to the sprinkler system, and disconnected and stored indoors during winter.
