This kit is amazing! It comes with everything you need to start your seeds! The best part is that they have a Facebook group that you can join to see other people’s plant adventures and get advice. Please note that not all your seeds may sprout, and that’s okay! This is not a magic kit that guarantees the seeds will sprout. A couple of mine didn’t and I was able to talk to someone from Garden Republic who helped me set up a plan to try to help mine sprout. If they don’t, you have extra seeds to start over! They also help you figure out what you can do better for your seeds the second go around! Even if you have a black thumb, I would highly recommend this kit! You will have successful sprouts and eventually full grown cacti and succulents if you use all of the resources they have. This company is incredible and has helped every person who asks for it!

I bought this as a gift for my 16 year old son who is obsessed with succulents! The product price & title was good enough for me to warrant a further glance at the details! When it came in I was shocked at how nice it is!! There are multiple seed packets in it with detailed instructions on what to do & how to do it. The wooden box is well crafted and beautiful. You can use it for anything you deem necessary! We are going to take time this week to set it up & hopefully grow our own succulent garden! I do not know if we will be successful but we will give it our very best try & I will take photos & document our progress. I hope that I can edit my review here to include some good news! If not, then I’ll reference this review and post an update. Wish us luck on all our cacti endeavors & here’s to you for starting your very on spiny plant flora farming!

Bought two, one for Mom and one for me, as a project we could do together. I have gotten into succulents and cacti during the “year at home”, and she has followed along.Short version: my opinion is that this is the best all-in-one grow kit available. I give 4 of 5 stars because it advertises too much ease and there is one significant design flaw.Longer version: I’m learning to grow from seed in general, this kit was one of many experiments.Unboxing was delightful, well-packed, beautiful, a great woody scent.... all very gif table.As you can see in the photos I have germinated plump lil cactus seedlings. It works, and germination took about 8 days.However, I have had this success with a heat mat and grow lights. Not nearly with the “set it and forget it” approach mentioned. My moms seedlings still have not germinated 15 days after planting without the mat.Without light, all seedlings of all varieties will grow tall and spindly. So absolutely I believe the seeds are legitimate, and also believe the struggles described in other reviews.Also, if you look carefully at the photos you can see a substantial amount of mold, along with a huge amount of cinnamon I’m hoping will work as an anti-fungal.Mold means soil is too moist, so partly it’s on me. When I visited the Garden Republic website, a suggestion for dealing with mold was to put the labeling stakes into the soil as little as possible. When I pulled the stakes out, they were COVERED in mold. I tossed and replaced with more-generic labels I have at home. I’m 90% sure the wood stakes were rotting below the surface, triggering some of the mold. The fact that this is listed in the website makes me think it’s a widespread problem, and therefore a pretty substantial design flaw.So overall, 4 of 5 stars. The best pre-created seed mix on the market and a great gift. But removing one star for the mold on the labels and the implication that growing seedlings is ever “easy,” because you can’t change biology.

While on quarantine, I wanted to do fun things with my 5 year old. I chose to buy this gardening kit as one project for her. It arrived very quickly and was way better than I expected! Great amazing quality!! Also, very user friendly! It came with detailed instructions and on line support. I love that its made in America and they send you enough seeds to plant twice, in case you are not successful with your first round of seed planting. And the seeds are guaranteed or they will send you replacement seeds. I am very pleased with this product and have ordered the herb kit also.This would be a perfect purchase or gift for any age! Kids definitely need an adult, but its very fun for them.

I’ve really enjoyed the experience so far! Not only did everything come beautifully packaged, but the directions were very clear, making it easy to plant and grow the seeds. I was a little intimidated at first because I’d heard how difficult it is to grow succulents from seeds. I don’t yet know how the end product will turn out because they are still very much in the seedling stage, but I will say that it’s delightful to see that my seeds did germinate! I have about five little green seedlings sprouting up and I’m excited to take them to the next stage of growth. It was so helpful to have the right kind of soil included in the packaging, and the correct amount to fill four little seedling “pots.” It’s also been helpful to use the original wooden box that all the products came in as a place to place all four pots and keep them steady while growing the seeds. And it’s pretty too - a very nice touch. All in all I’m happy with my kit and would recommend it to anyone wanting to grow succulents from seeds!
