I bought this for my gf for valentines day and the opal itself is really beautiful. I contacted the seller about getting this with the gold plated setting and they were very fast to respond. If you do message them, do it right away as they ship VERY quickly. I received a message back saying they switched out for the gold plated one right before the courier arrived. It also came with a nice gift bag and a jewelry box that shines a light on the opal when you open it. The box itself was a really modern looking sort of matte-silvery blue (best I can describe it). Saved me from having to figure out how to wrap it, etc. Really happy with the purchase and she loved it. Opal is her birthstone so this made her really happy. Also, fun side-note... I once wrote her a note and drew a VERY asymmetrical heart on it, which became kind of a couple-joke that I draw hearts really badly... so the heart shape had even more meaning here. She thought it was great. The perfect gift in my case for sure. Thanks!

Ordered earrings and necklace. Had some issues with the necklace gem at first but the company shipped me a new one and its stunning. Wife loves it, very pretty.

The quality of the silver pendant is very nice but the stone looks dark when the light is not shining on it, so it does not appear as a pretty opal. I read all the positive reviews so that's why I bought it but disappointed that it does not appear as an opal when wearing it.

Wow This opal pendant is beautiful. Pendant looks even better than on amazon. Then jewelry box itself is a wow. there is a small light that shines on necklace when box opened. a very nice birthday gift from my husband

I have no idea what thickness means but an extremely satisfied with the opal and the setting. It also came in a box with a light in it that highlighted the variance of colors within the opal. Something that makes sense for selling jewelry but I had never seen before.
