Great pen for the frequent note taker
The pen is rather slim, and I would compare it’s feel in the hand to that of the Parker Jotter with a medium nib. Unlike with the Jotter, I prefer this pen unposted, as the lightness of this pen makes it a bit top-heavy when posted, which makes writing small a bit awkward. Unposted, however, it is perfectly balanced, with a slight bit more weight toward the nib-end.The grip is comfortable, and I can write for as long as I choose, as I have not yet experienced any hand cramping, however, I could see an issue for people with larger hands. The build quality is consistent with the slant standard; superb craftsmanship and the ink flow is consistent, and satisfying yet not overly flow-heavy. Would definitely recommend this pen as an addition to any collection!

Lamy CP1 Is a great FP to have in your collection!!
I have other Lamy fountain pens but hadn't used them in a while so I had forgotten how great the Lamy brand is. The CP1 pen is awesome, it writes the first time all the time (unless you run it out of ink, ha). I would definitely recommend this to any one, from the new fountain pen user to someone who has used them for years.

Lamy is one of my favorite brands of pens
Lamy is one of my favorite brands of pens. Over the last nearly a decade, I have purchase many Lamys. The CP1 style is my favorite, with the stainless steel LOGO as my second favorite.I have purchased two these, one though Amazon. Either from E-Bay or Jet Pen, I purchased the black tip to go with this black CP1 to give it an all black look. I used Noodler's Bulletproof Black. Both tips write well, no skipping when using this ink.I have small to medium size hands. This pen is not heavy at all or too light. I can hold and write with it comfortably. The CP1 is so much my favorite style of Lamy fountain pen, I have purchased the single, twin, and tri versions of the black CP1. And a blue, a green, and a satin steel version of the CP1 fountain pen.

It’s a Lamy. It’s great!
Smooth, great fit to my hand, excellent for its price. One con: sometimes too much flow. But I’d still recommend and buy again.

Great pen when it has ink to use
Great pen, I use the same for myself. I bought this one as a gift and shipped directly, unfortunately when we opened it we realized it didn't come with a cartridge or converter. It was a very big let down for me as I was hoping to introduce my brother to fountain pens and he told me he will stick to his $.99 BIC pens because they come with ink. Besides the missing accessories this is an excellent pen but without ink it is basically useless. I will buy additional cartridges though to use, it is worth the additional expense.

Sleek and Classy Design
Lamy products are a great place to start if you are looking for a durable pen for a mid-range cost. I have used the Lamy Safari and Vista fountain pens and was looking for an upgrade to what I consider a mid-range (price) fountain pen. The Vista and Safari pens will run you around $30 so the CP1 falls between those and the upper tier pens that cost around $100. If you are new to fountain pens, consider the Safari and Vista to get used to the writing style and you can save your self some money before you commit to a better pen.PROS:- Significantly thinner then the Safari/Vista fountain pens- Metal body of the pen puts some weight and durability that the Safari/Vista pens lack- Came with a the conversion kit to use bottled ink (I don't know if this is seller specific)- Excellent flow of ink from nib- Durable metal cap clipCONS:- Cap has a bit of give when attached to bottom of the pen- Metal clip has a bit of give side to side( kind of like a loose tooth)- nib housing is plasticOver all this is a great writing instrument. If you are looking to move past Lamy's Vista/Safari class, this is a great start. With the average price and the lifetime warranty offered by Lamy Im sure that this will be a great investment.
