The Sak Deena Flap Cross-Body Bag

It's perfect. Just about everything I could have wanted.I had a large bag and I have a bad habit of carrying too much. So I wanted to downsize. I wanted a comfortable strap that would not dig into my shoulders. I wanted a little bit of organization inside, but not too much, that way it's like a sack but I can still find things when I need them. I wanted a casual bag with a little bit of style but nothing over done. And in the modern world of smartphones, I need to access my phone easily and put it back in my bag easily. The Deena Crossbody met all of those expectations.I've been using it for about a month now and love it. It was a bit of a struggle for me to get used to carrying just the minimum instead of packing my bag with all the things that I might possibly need (but hardly ever did need). This bag holds my walled, makeup bag, keys, and the little odds and ends like my pain killer and earbuds. The organization works great for me. There is one large compartment with two pockets and a 3rd pocket with a zipper. Then there is another large compartment which is the part that has the flap that hangs over and an exterior zipper. I like that compartment because it is great for quick access, and I don't have to zip it to keep it shut. Just let the flap fall over and all my things are safe inside.The best part is the smart phone pocket. Why are there not more purses that have this feature? Even children have smart phones these days. Bags should be designed around this! The exterior smart phone pocket is large enough to let my Nexus 5x slide in and out easily, yet deep enough to ensure the phone will not accidentally fall out. The only thing I have to be careful of is to not pack my bag too full because it will put pressure on my smart phone and I don't want to damage my phone.I purchased the color Sienna which is a muted red. This is my first time buying a bag that was not a neutral color like black or tan. I was tempted to get the Cherry red to make a bold statement...but bold just isn't my personality. The muted red "Sienna" works great because most of my clothes are colorful but muted. It looks great with everything, except for red. If I wear a red top it looks awkward. But any other color has worked great so far. Especially blue jeans.The leather looks great and the stitching is good. This bag is great quality and made well. There is just one downside. And it might not bother most people. I like the casual strap. But because it is not made of leather, it is difficult to clean. The first week I had this bag I accidentally dripped something and of course it landed on the strap which does not wipe off as easily as leather does. I now have a stain on the strap. If it was leather that wold not have happened. But I'm not complaining. The leather pad on the strap feels very comfortable on my shoulder and I don't have problems with the strap falling off or digging into my skin. I don't usually use this as a crossbody, I have the strap short and just use it like a normal bag. But it is nice that I can have the crossbody option if I want to.

I love this bag because, as usual, the leather is so supple and soft, and so rich-looking! I liked the three-color combo on the Leopard Block, and I wear a lot of black and animal prints and it looks really nice with my outfits. Even though it's a little small, it still holds everything I need and I get a lot of compliments! I love The Sak handbags because the leather is always nice, they're well made, and they have lots of styles and colors from which to choose! I'm so glad I bought it!!

This is the Tardis of handbags. It has two big, main compartments. The caramel-colored zipper flap opens a pocket that goes down to the bottom of the purse. The upper part with the zipper closure folds over the other, even bigger, compartment that also goes all the way down. That compartment contains a zip pocket and two more open pockets. There's a slash pocket on the back of the purse big enough for a large phone.I love the mix of colors and textures. The faux cheetah material (feels furry), the fabric strap, and the rest in leather give a bohemian look to this bag. I get compliments and I just feel good carrying it.

Pros: I'm very satisfied with the color, size, texture, and weight. It's very well made. It can fit all my carrying needs and it has plenty of pockets.Cons: It closes with a magnet. The magnet isn't particularly strong so it doesn't really stay closed. It just sorta flaps over, as seen in the picture.Given the quality of the bag, I expected it would contain a stronger magnet.

I love this little purse. It is the perfect size for me. I love the color and the leather is good quality. It does have a canvas strap, but I knew that before ordering and that does not bother me. It has a few different compartments that help me stay organized, and a designated phone pocket on the outside that will even fit my giant Galaxy S5 with a huge protective case on it.

I have owned and used this bag for 3 weeks and the leather is all grey and it looks battered and old. I think the tanning methods or the dyeing methods of SAK are not the best....or the leather quality is not very good, despite the price and their (I think) good reputation. This bag costs almost $100 with tax, yet looks crummy. The opening is also a bit small for a normal sized wallet to fit conveniently, but not too annoying. Also the pretty part with the silver lacing doesn't fold over totally, so some of that laced pattern is lost on the back side. Am returning it because of the battered grey-lookiing leather.

I have been a fan of Sak's Deena purse style for several years. Don't understand why on earth they have discontinued it. I especially like the second slim panel with zipper: I keep reading glasses and comb in it for easy access. I spotted this one on Amazon, but was hesitant about the colors. Now that I have been using it for awhile, I love it. It goes with everything, and I have even gotten compliments on it. My only concern was that some of the sequins along the edge of the opening were sharp enough to scratch my hand; I solved that issue by simply snipping them in half or removing them altogether, and it was not noticeable at all.

I love this purse! All I use are cross bodies now, and this one is the best I've seen yet. It's the perfect size not too big but fits a ton of stuff. I love all of the pockets the one on the back fits my keys perfectly so I don't have to dig for them. The color is a more purple blue but still pretty. The shoulder pad is so great and moves if you adjust the strap. I will definitely be buying another color soon!
