OtterBox STRADA SERIES for Samsung Galaxy S8 - Retail Packaging - ONYX (BLACK/BLACK LEATHER)

Buy this one. It's worth every penny. Unlike other cheap folios, this one is leather front and back, and the leather is fully integrated into the protective rubberized phone case. It's extremely slim. Doesn't add much thickness to the phone. The magnetic flap is strong enough to keep it closed in your pocket or purse. All cutouts line up perfectly. Despite others' concerns, you can easily unlock the phone with the fingerprint scanner.To be fair, there are some concerns for some people (not for me), but I'll share them:1. The slot inside will hold ONE item - credit card, commuter card, OR a single bill.2. The magnetic tab DOES stick out slightly. Not enough to affect function, but not "bent flush" with the side of the case.3. Obviously, with a folio, you need to hold the flap OPEN to take pictures. Many people don't think about this until it's too late.4. You need the flap OPEN to adjust volume, but the power button is always available.5. Because the case protects the power and Bixby buttons, you need to push a bit harder to use those.6. The case MAY or MAY NOT accommodate a screen protector. I briefly tried a curved glass protector, but that did fit or stay with the case closed. The S8 has Gorilla Glass 5. If you're not prone to DROPPING your phone, then I believe a screen protector is unnecessary with this case. If you insist on using a screen protector, you'll probably want a soft wet-installation one, but will need to experiment with sizes.Overall, the best folio available if you're looking for thin, unobtrusive, leather, great quality construction and good protection.

If you have an s8 look no further. This is the only case you will want to buy and I'll tell you why. I thought I would buy a nice case when I bought my phone, I got a cute offbrand one it looked durable with a rubber lip that was supposed to protect it from drops on the face, it had good ratings so I bought it thinking my phone would be protected. Well I can tell you that it did not protect the screen, it fell only a couple of feet and shattered and I cut my finger. But the real pain was that it cost over $200 to replace. Ouch! This otterbox case has a huge advantage over that case and 99.9% of all of the other cases. Why? The screen cover. This is the ONLY case with a built in screen cover I could find that securely protects the face from drops. Also otterbox brand is is one of the best most durable cases you can buy, I've used them for years. The s8 screen is incredibly fragile and shatters easily with its curved screen that sticks out ever so slightly. I had an s5 and that thing would never break no matter how much I dropped it, I thought the newer version would have similar durability, well it does not! I would not recommend any other case for this phone unless you want to pay 25-50% of the cost of the phone to replace the glass. This case also looks sleek, I can put my key card in the pocket which is awesome. Also you don't really need a screen protector with this case, which is great since screen protectors and tempered glass are are notoriously difficult to apply properly on the s8. I have dropped my phone several times now and I don't have to have a heartattack everytime it happens thanks to this case.

I have been on a "quest" to find the best case and screen protector for my Samsung s8. Spigen cases are good BUT trying to find a screen protector has proved to be frustrating. The curved screen of the phone is NOT screen-protector friendly. I had a glass one but it quickly started to have spider-web cracks through it after only a couple of months. I tried another brand but quickly went through two of those screen protectors because when I tried to put the case back on, the screen popped off. Ugh. Then I thought I would get a more "plastic" type of screen protector. But after reading reviews of people who had successfully installed the screen protector (it is a wet-installation process which seems counter-intuitive to me) they then found this type of screen protector easily indents and got scratches in the viewing area of the phone. That wasn't an attractive option to me. So back on the hunt. I have a LG tablet that I bought a folio-type cover for a couple of years ago and it has been just fine. I decided to try this type of cover with my phone. I received it last week and I ABSOLUTELY love it. The cover protects the screen when it's in my purse (which is more like a wallet on a string so I have to be careful that I don't buy something too bulky). It’s easy to fold the cover back to make calls, check texts, etc. It also has a cutout in the back so I can still use my fingerprint ID. There is a small pocket on the inside where you could put an ID or maybe emergency cash or credit card. The side buttons for volume and such are not quite as sensitive (easy to push) as they were when the phone was in a Spigen case BUT the peace of mind I have for protecting the phone’s screen makes this a minor inconvenience. If you have been searching for the right combination of phone and screen protector, I'd highly recommend considering this option. I am a happy camper...finally.

It doesn't come with a screen protector. But it comfortable in my pocket. Protects against pocket dialing. Happy this is my second as the interior leather goes. The exterior was perfect.

Es la mejor funda para un Galaxy S8.Tengo aprox. 6 meses usando este modelo de funda, compre en dos colores negro y café y siguen en excelente estado. Yo creo que fácilmente alcanzan a durar uno o dos años de uso cada una. La negra la usé por un par de meses y me encantó el color café, la compré y todo mundo me pregunta por ella, llama mucho la atención.La piel en la parte externa no ha cambiado su color ni se ha agrietado en estos meses de uso, en ninguna de las fundas, las costuras como si nada... y eso que la llevo dentro de mi pantalón entra y sale todo el día.Me encanta porque es una funda compacta y sin embargo tiene los bordes con goma muy semejantes al grosor que tiene mi funda Otterbox Commutter, por lo que lo protegen frente a caídas perfectamente.El celular lo llevó sin mica protectora o cristal templado porque la funda se mantiene cerrada con el imán que tiene al costado. Cuando lo use puedo disfrutar de la pantalla de mi celular y el tacto perfecto (tal como fue diseñado) sin preocuparse.El compartimento para la tarjeta permite meter una tarjeta o dos pero muy apretadas. Encontré dos oportunidades de mejora en ese compartimento... el primero: cuesta trabajo sacar la tarjeta que este ahí dentro porque no existe forma de aventar la tarjeta hacia afuera solo se puede tirar de ella desde fuera y eso a veces toma algo de tiempo.... quizá alguien que tenga unas largas no tendrá problema con eso. Y en segudno lugar, existe el riesgo potencial de que la tarjeta raye la pantalla del celular... por esta razón yo no uso el pprtatarjetas en este momento, porque no tengo mica. Antes lo use, como por dos meses mientras use el cristal templado... pero como les dije antes, retire el cristal porque la funda hace que no lo necesite.N fin.. En resumen: Una funda 100% recomendable. Yo creo que si compro otro equipo (ya sea Samsung o Apple) de inmediato comprare esta funda...

Really good quality

As someone who has owned this case and dropped it many times over 18 months and don't have a single crack, I would say boo hoo to the person complaining it's not real leather. Who cares what your phone case is made of as long as it works? I don't know what else to tell you, it's not even available at the moment but it's worked for me and I could care less if it creases. Some people will complain about everything, I guess.
