A great preteen read!
This series is great for preteens! It has an engaging storyline that will keep the reader coming back chapter after chapter to see what happens next. Each character has their own unique personality and adds interest to the story. It has some teen romance and rebellion, but nothing out of line. Ultimately, the storyline emphasizes the importance of friendship and family. I highly recommend it!

Good, but.
I purchased these for my daughter and wanted to preview them before she read them. They are very sweet but the issues I had with the author’s other series (Pumpkin Falls mysteries) apply here. First, I wish the 6th and 7th grade girls could skip the romance. I get the girls get crushes, it’s just… they’re 12. What the heck are they going to do with a boyfriend? Let’s just not normalize these romances. But my other issue is that the adults really do not have the kids’ backs. They put up with fairly egregious bullying, they punish their own kids for dealing with bullies their parents are unwilling to deal with. It’s not just once or twice, it’s a constant theme. It’s just disappointing as a parent how little empathy the parents seem to have for their children they are allegedly close with. There are some great aspects, but I wish she had left some of the romance and negligent adults out. Finally, and my biggest objection, one of the girls in the stories is described as chubby. Her Queen Bee nemesis calls her fat in one of the later books. And she’s treated as someone who needs to be ashamed of her body. At one point, she takes up figure skating as a hobby but also in an effort to control her weight. It works - she slims down and the mean girl can’t make fun of her weight anymore and the formerly chubby girl doesn’t have to hold her stomach in in a bathing suit. It’s just… not what I want my girls thinking of. That the world will be kinder and bullies safer if their bodies are small. And if the their bodies aren’t small, the must hide them and suck in their stomachs. This is not a healthy trope.

LOVE THEM
BEST BOOKS EVER!!!!!!! JUST REREAD THEM! my mom bought them for me and it feels wonderful owning then and not having to wait and wait so long from the library and never call it your book! I know that sounds weird I'm book crazy! :) But AWESOME series and definitely recommend them. I dream I live in Concord and are in the club with them. Everything came in great shape. The only con is that the last book is the LAST book she will make in the series. LOL! But definitely read these. I will be re-reading them to the day I Die

My mom bought these books for me for Christmas, the first book was a little slow to get into but as it went on in the series i couldn't put them down.I am 11 years old and they are my absolute favorite books. I would definitely recommend these books to anyone looking for a good book. It was kind of sad when i realized they weren't real and they couldn't be my best friends!! I did think it was a little strange for the girls to have boyfriends and kiss each other... But these books are my favorite!!

Missing pages!!!
I bought my 10 year-old daughter this book series as a Christmas gift last year. I intended for us to read it together but, we never found/made time to read it until recently. She and I finally began reading this series together about a month ago. We both absolutely love it! It has become a nightly ritual for us to read a chapter, or two. We finished the first in the series and jumped right into the second, “Much Ado About Anne”. The story is wonderful (so far), however, to our great disappointment, our copy of the book is missing pages 219-250!!! I honestly can’t believe it!!!I guess I have to buy a replacement and hope it has all its pages. What the heck!?***Update*** I contacted the publisher, Simon and Schuster and they sent me a replacement copy. All pages are included. Yay! If purchasing this book, I recommend ordering directly from them.

Enjoyable up to the 6th book.
The last book of the series felt out of place. Story could have ended at book 6.

I bought this set for my 11 year old daughter because she loves to read. Originally she had no interest in reading them because she didn't choose the books herself. But once I got her to start, she didn't want to put them down. She stayed up late every night and begged to stay up later to continue. She has already asked for the next series in the Mother-Daughter Book Club. :)
