An essential earthy and grounding aromatherapy oil.
This essential oil was specifically recommended to me through an alternative medicine healer. The label describes the aroma as "encouraging". The etymology or origin of the word "courage" is translated as "heart" (the seat of emotions). Loosely translated, this can be interpreted as "to put strength into the heart".The ingredients read "cinnamon oil" and the aroma does empart familiar yet muted undertones of cinnamon. The scent of cinnamon is present yet it serves as the backdrop for a deeply earthen and comforting scent, which I found to be very grounding. This essential oil is dramatically potent and a little goes a very long way.I enjoyed using this oil as a base aroma to mix in with other oils for my night-time diffuser. The earthy and grounding properties of this cassia oil helped me to feel more rested upon waking in the morning.

Pleasant scent for humans not so to insects.
I mix the entire small bottle with filtered water filling 1 gallon container about 3/4 full and then filling a 12 ounce sprayer as needed. I spray every morning around the inside and outside of my doors and wreaths. Also in laundry room, bath, living room and kitchen from towels, shower curtains, throws, tablecloths, pillows, fabric chairs to rugs and even in the air. Has never stained. I use one bottle monthly.Takes me about 20 minutes after I make my coffee or tea and feed my Dog. I even put citronella on his potty tray and then put the potty pad on the tray each time I change his pad.It is so worth it! Peppermint is great too, especially for spiders and crawly bugs. Flyers seem more dissuaded by citronella but they are not fond of peppermint either. And the home has a fresh, clean scent that is healthy, not harmful chemicals. You can't ingest it or allow your dog to lick it while it is still wet. It is an essential oil not for cooking or drinking. You can grow peppermint in pots outside and cut sprigs enough to fill a small basket and throw the sprigs on the table among the dishes to keep flies from landing when eating outside. Squeeze the mint to get the oils active. Lovely scent. Throw a sprig in your tea, hot or cold. Also good with coffee, vanilla bean ice cream and peppermint sprig or stir the coffee with a leftover candy cane!Herbs are priceless in their many uses and benefits.

Works ok to keep bugs off while out working in ...
Works ok to keep bugs off while out working in the garden, but has a bit of a smokey or burnt smell that I can barely stand. Not quite the traditional citronella scent I was looking for.

Nice smell but not strong
The actual smell is good. It has that actual cinnamon smell and not a sweet sickly cinnamon. I even add more drops but it doesn’t make the smell any stronger. I usually will mix it with clove or sage to get a desired stronger smell .
