Great car!
First, let me say that the open wheel slot cars are extremely light and DO NOT hold the track well. The interior space is so limited that there’s no room for extra magnets. Your driving style will have to be much less aggressive to keep this type of car on the track. That said, I love racing these cars! I like that running these open wheel cars takes skill. Much more challenging than going full tilt and relying on guard rails to keep you on the track. This car in particular, has excellent soft rubber tires. Scuffing the tires on fine sandpaper helps a lot! The detail is amazing and I’ve rolled it a few times with no damage. It’s probably not the best car for youngsters but for older children and adults, I highly recommend this one.

Gears do not engage properly
The pinion gear on the motor shaft does not properly engage the gear on the axel shaft resulting in severe gear slippage, very loud noise when running, and inability to run properly. Ordered one from an online slot car store. That one had the slipping gear problem; then ordered this one directly from Amazon. SAME PROBLEM!! Immediately sent back the one ordered from Amazon. Will be contacting Scalextric direct as I feel it is a manufacturing problem and not an issue with the online slot car store. Or maybe I just received two bum slot cars. Who knows? I will update this post, after contacting Scalextric, and will advise on how they responded.
