Bona Mega Wood Floor Finish Extra Matte 1 Gallon

I bought this because when workmen moved my stove they scratched my new wood floor. I sanded the floor where the scratches were and then lightly sanded the rest of the area. I applied two coats and it turned out beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the result

I'm a contractor and my floor guy turned me on to this stuff. I've used it on a couple of small floor touch-ups, but I recently used it on some kitchen cabinets. I applied it with an applicator pad -- the kind used for painting. It goes on smoothly, evens out quickly so it doesn't leave streaks and dries really fast. It says it's oxygen activated, so it is ready for a second coat in just 3-4 hours. That means I can get a 2-coat pad-applied finish in just one day that looks as good as a spray job without the nuisance of setting up a spray booth. It's now my go-to finish.UPDATE: I've switched to those terrycloth covered stain applicator pads to apply this stuff for cab work. Works even better!

After two weeks of trying daily to saturate countertops with mineral oil unsuccessfully I looked for alternative products. I purchased three high-end countertop water based polyurethanes. They all passed for sealing but failed miserably on durability. I purchased this product and was amazed! Seals and can take a beating! Each coat dries in under an hour. I would recommend adding two coats, waiting 24 hours, lightly sanding, and repeating until happy with the results. I like 5-6 coats for an ultra smooth finish.

I have used Bona products for years and this one is as good as all of the rest. The finish is ultra-matte, so the wood looks rich but essentially unsealed. That is the look we were looking for, but might cause panic if you were expecting to see a little bit of gloss.

High quality

This finish is more expensive than others but love the consistency. Easy to spread on and dries very fast. I chose matte so it would not show so many imperfections and as I have dogs they can have accidents so I thought matte would be better in case I have to re coat a spot. The smell is not strong either. Would recommend.

i had never finished my own floors before and Bona Mega made it so easy. We had ratty wood, buried under carpet and paint for decades, so after sanding I used Bona Mega in Matte as to not highlight any imperfections and they look AMAZING. I honestly can't believe how good they turned out.

This stuff is awful...a waist of good money. I would go with the HD if I used again. It left cloudy marks and did not go on evenly.
