A Curry Powder With An Inviting Fragrance Has A Delicious Mild Flavor And Can Be Enjoyed By All
Taj Madras Curry Powder is a curry powder with an inviting fragrance and a dark, golden brown color. I used it to make curry chicken. It was easy to work with and add to the chicken as the powder is finely ground. It is a well balanced spice blend where the spices work together beautifully and no specific spice overpowers the others. It is a mild flavored curry that my entire family was able to eat and enjoy. The blend smells and tastes fresh and is made up with coriander, turmeric, cumin, chili, fenugreek, ginger, black pepper, mustard, fennel, and curry leaves. The list is slightly different from the product image posted on Amazon. I'm guessing that the manufacturer updated their recipe. Hopefully they will update the product photos to match. The manufacturer stated that the spice blend was processed with machinery that also processes wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, soya, mustard, and sulphites. If you have an allergy to any or all of these foods, please be aware. I wish that the curry powder was placed in a resealable bag. I ended up placing the entire opened bag into a resealable bag for easy storage. This is a large bag of curry and will last a while in our home. I plan to make a curried chicken salad next. It is a Product of India. I was unable to find the best by/expiration date on the package that I received. Overall, this is a delicious curry that can be enjoyed by all without fear of spicy heat.

Smooth and finely ground curry powder
I was impressed with the flavor profile and aroma of the curry powder. I made chicken madras curry with plain white basmati rice. Although it is a bit spicy for me, I found it to be well-balanced, flavorful, and suitable for use in various dishes like curries, soup, biriyani etc. the powder is very finely ground so it won't have a gritty texture in curry or in biryani. I usually make curry powder from scratch, but now I have enough to last for a long time. My Indian friend suggested that I freeze the curry powder in small packets (like vacuum sealer bags) to make it last longer. So, I divided it into small portions and froze the bags. Overall, they highly recommend this curry powder for those seeking a flavorful and versatile spice blend. Next time I will try it in biriyani.

Mild but flavorful
This is very, very fine curry powder that can get messy if you're not very careful! I switched it to a reusable bulk container immediately to make sure I can retain low moisture levels, and I felt like it lingered in the air for a few days before I managed to clean all the lingering remnants up. That being said, what a delicious curry this blend makes! I'm glad I grabbed the mild stuff, this definitely feels like a 3/10 spice for me and that is perfect for its versatility - I can add more spice if I want to, but it's a perfectly rounded spice blend in the meantime. This will make a lot of good curry. Super impressed by this brand and this product. Delicious!

Great addition to our pantry.
We have several curry dishes in our regular meal rotation. We follow a pescatarian eating style which leans heavily on plant-based meals. Several of our favorites are curry based, which means we're always looking for a new curry powder. My wife's tastes tend to be on the mild side when it comes to heat, so this Madras Curry Powder seemed to fit us perfectly. We just made one of our standards, a curried lentils & sweet potato. It is so good, and this curry powder more than held its own. I've seen recipes that call for all of the various spices that go into a curry. It's a lot. So nice to have it done for us. Next, we'll be doing a coconut curry white fish. We've had it at Thai restaurants many times, but more recently have been making our own. Easy and delicious, with a good curry powder.

A ready-made curry powder for those busy days!
I usually make my own curry powder from scratch, based on family recipes. However, I ordered this curry powder as my previous experience with TAJ products have been very good, and I have never made a Madras Curry powder before.I tasted a tiny bit of curry powder straight from the package to see how well the flavors of the different ingredients had blended. I am pleased with the good balance of flavors and the curry powder tastes fresh. I was concerned about the bitterness from fenugreek, but, thankfully, the bitterness did not come through. Besides its use for curries, I think this curry powder will add a very nice touch to vegetable stir fries.I could not find a clear list of ingredients in this product's description on the Amazon product page, so I had to zoom into the Amazon product picture to check the ingredients list. The package I received lists 10 ingredients including fennel and chili (as seen in my pictures). I had to peel off the removable label to check the ingredient list on my package. However, the Amazon product picture lists 11 ingredients, not including fennel and chili, but including garlic, cinnamon and clove which are not mentioned on curry powder package I received. There is a clear discrepancy in the ingredient list in the Amazon product picture versus the actual packaging. I am deducting a star from the rating due to this discrepancy.

Tasty mild curry
This has a delightful smell and the taste is good on the milder side. It would be fine in any curry and also as (part of or as) a rub.

Tasty! (TAJ Madras Curry Powder | 14oz | Premium Blend of Spices | Mild Spice Level)
What a delightful curry powder! A mild heat level but fantastically aromatic and flavorful. Fresh and nicely balanced. Sometimes pre-mixed curry powders like this can be bitter but I didn't get at all here.
