Smells lovely
The tin is smaller than I expected, but a little goes a long way. It smells really nice, very herbal. Definitely keeps the mosquitos at bay.

It works
Smells good, applies kinda easy but leaves an oily residue on your hands and skin. It does keep the skeets at bay. Make sure you cover your skin completely. Small container of balm goes a long way. I prefer their spray.

Cannot believe it but this stuff works
The container looks small and I am not an “organic” “naturalist” person. I like science and drugs, but I draw the line at putting pesticide on/in my body. I’m in Florida, and next to a canal and I seriously can’t be in my back yard for even a minute without being aggressively pursued my biting bugs. Not even a minute! Over the weekend I tried to hang a bird feeder and I came back in with dozens of bites, so I bought this stuff. When it arrived - I was very disappointed in the size and I was already skeptical about “natural”. Regarding size - it’s a balm, not a salve - so surprisingly, this will last a long time! You just wipe your finger over it and it isn’t like you take a chunk of the stuff, it’s an invisible layer and you just keep rubbing more and more on your skin. One application (and I tried to use a lot) and you can’t even tell it was ever used, so it will last. So I went out this morning and gardened, hung more feeders and then watered my new plants. I was out for 3 hours… I saw large mosquitos flying around me and one on my shirt - but no where I put the stuff! So.. I have changed my mind. I will continue to buy this. It works 100%. One thing - if you have any areas you don’t put it - they will come. That’s a bit different than other repellents I think. I had rubbed it on the back of my neck but not the front of my neck or around my ears… and that is where they tried to bite. But I just added there and it was fine. So this works!! And after one use where I would say I used a lot… you can’t even tell it was used- so I think the container will last a long time. Good value and working product.

Works great, HARD AS HECK TO OPEN
Because I got the small container, there’s barely room to get a good grip on the base to pull the lid off. It’s maybe a 3/4 to 1 inch tall, and a little less than half of that is the bottom, and the top is slightly bigger. I don’t know if I’m just an idiot, but unless you have Incredible Hulk grip strength, you’re going to hurt your fingers trying to get the lid off. I’ve tried pushing the top up from the bottom, grabbing the whole lid and lifting, lifting up on side, pushing up in one spot…I’ve even had other people try to open it and struggle.Product works great as far as I can tell and smells good, as long as you’re ok with the lemongrass scent. I also have super sensitive skin and it doesn’t bother me or burn at all.Good luck. I’d buy it again in a bigger, easier to open container 😵💫

Tiny but mighty!
My 5 year old attracts mosquitos but I barely get bit even when we're occupying the same space. I was skeptical about this product but tried it anyway since we were going on a trip to South East Asi. We stayed at a farming community and these worked very well. The smell wasn't that wrong either so my child wasn't bothered by it. FYI it's tiny but worth it. I used a small amount which was enough to cover her arms and legs.

Smells great, works well
I love the way this smells. So, we've got a mosquito problem by my house and I am one of those people that they find especially tasty. If I got outside for 5 minutes without some kind of bug stuff on I get eaten alive. This stuff is GREAT. I hated using Off or the other heavy duty bug sprays if I was only popping out to the car. But if I went without anything see above: I'd get eaten alive. This stuff smells good, goes on light, and works almost as well as the stuff with Deet. I have gotten bug bites while wearing this but not often, and it's the difference between get 3-4 nasty, itchy, bug bites that take days to heal (no bug balm) and one small bite that hardly itches at all and gets better in less than a day (with bug balm). For everyday wear, I definitely recommend this.

Brought this for the John Muir Trail. It was completely ineffective.
The media could not be loaded. Let me preface this by stating that I am the guy in the group that bugs swarm. There are folks that mosquitoes seem to leave alone, folks that get some bites, and then folks that always seem to have a small buzzing cloud around them. I am the last one on that list. I also depended on this in the very moist, recently covered in snow melt, and warm High Sierra’s during the most mosquito dense time of the year.I don’t live in an area with mosquitoes and foolishly assumed Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm would work. It came in a flat, secure, and very easy to open tin. It also applies easily and smelled nice. I just finished the John Muir Trail in July and Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm did not work. Mosquitos would swarm to my legs, I would apply the balm, and mosquitos would swarm to my legs still. There were two occasions that mosquitos actually landed in the repellant itself. It was so bad and I just kept using the stuff hoping that it would work. Every time disappointed that it didn’t. I carried this stuff for 100 miles until I got to a resupply with a trash can, threw it away, and bought a way too heavy can of deet.Maybe if you’re not the person bugs swarm, and/or you’re not in a particularly bad mosquito area it works well enough.
