Tha' Wisdom
Aside from The Doggfather's unhurried observations and often humorous insight, favorite spots where I drew inspiration was in the likes of Coach Johnson’s message on ‘having a mission’ (I call it passion). Auntie Mary was another favorite, as was Shanté. Adding much muse to this memoir were his raw, rustic perspectives and outlook on life, his growth and his innate relationship with God, on top of his love for his wife and children...wanting his children to ‘to feel safe, free and fine about themselves.’ I’m saying, “raise your kids up right, best legacy to bestow the world...” stole my heart. I’ve read very few memoirs as redemptive and redeeming as Tha Doggfather. Highly recommended!

His best work, strangely enough
This is one of the most interesting celebrity memoirs I've ever read. And - if we can assume that the ultimate purpose of any such book is to increase our affection for the author - one the most successful. Now I've never considered Snoop a particularly exemplary rapper. The enjoyable flavor [I'm white, okay? If I wrote "flava", I'd deserve to have my car radio stolen] of his stoned drawl aside, I just don't see how big a claim you can make for an annunciatory couplet as banal as "One, two, three, and to the four / Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre is at the door". But even if Mr. Broadus does pull his punches when it comes to Suge Knight's reign of terror [hey, are *you* prepared to tweak the guy off?], he is as honest about his coming-up as anyone could ask for. And his descriptions of both the good times and the bad times in the L.B.C. are truly evocative. His concise account of how life in the ghetto and life in jail reveal themselves as opposite sides of the same coin is worth 100 books full of pedantry from (white) TV talking-heads about "the problem of the underclass". Frankly, if his raps were as educational as this book, Snoop would actually accomplish what Chuck D. was trying to pull off for so many years. I hope he goes for it instead of minding his scrilla with unchallenging panegyrics to blunts and booty.

He is one of the best.
Snoop is a great man and I have all of his cd's. I liked the book a lot. He takes people like us and makes us see all of the truth in his book. Now that his gangsta life is over he thinks very highly of god. God put him here on this earth for one thing and that was to put out a message, god is always there. I do not go to church nor do I like church, but he made me think that my life is not so bad, which I should be thankfull for. Compaired to his young life, I can go to school and not be killed or shot at.It may not be as bad as his life, but I can still get killed. He opened up about when he was young and there was no real male influines in his life. He also said "he can remember the gangster life, but it is all behind him now".People put him down because he's a black drug smoking, cop killing, gangsta. I say if you read his book, you will have second thougths about who and what he is.

Snoop Dogg- Tha Dog father
For my lit class I had to read a book. So I chose a book that is about a rapper that i love. I made a great selection with this book. This book is amazing. It tells u everything about Snoop Dogg. It tells about his childhood, and growing up in the LBC (Long Beach California). It tells about his time in jail, about him being a ganster, and about all of his record deals. Also this book gets into his relationship with Dr. Dre, Waren G, and NateDog. And it explains his relationship with his wife, and his children. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes rap, or wants to know more about rap.

SO ME BEING A READER I GOT TO SEE WHAT SNOOP THOUGHT ABOUT VARIOUS THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO HIM IN HIS LIFE. AND IT WAS NOT A BORING BOOK IN SOME PARTS IT WAS FUNNY. SO IF YOU WANT TO READ ABOUT SNOOP, BUT YOU WANT TO READ A GOOD BOOK THIS IS THE ONE BOOK THAT I'M TRULY RECOMMENDING. ENJOY!

Snoop Dogg Does Everything These Days
Not only is Snoop Dogg one of the best rappers in the game, has his on record label, finds up and coming stars, but now he has written a great book. This book shows the best of Snoop Dogg. From his early days when he was rollin with Warren G, to him almost getting the crap kicked out of him by a crack head, Snoop in jail then getting out and the same day getting put back in, to him and Dre putting together a song that started it all (Murder Was the Case). This book shows Snoop as a loving father, a good husband, a great rapper/producer, but also as a regular type of guy. If you want a great book about a great rapper that tells it like it is, then get Snoop Dogg's book Tha Doggfather.
