Tastes canned. Need to doctor it with your own seasonings.
Good source of shelf stable protein. BUT, they do taste canned and have the canned-like liquid in the package. They work well if seasoned to your taste, whether with spices & herbs or a sauce. They work very well for additional protein if added to a canned soup or one of those spicy “meal in a pouch” pouches.

SUPER ready-to-eat lentils. YUM! BUT some packages DO contain liquid..be warned.
I LOVE these lentils! I live in a place where I can't cook for myself, so these are a life-saver when I don't want to eat what's offered where I live. I also get TWO meals out of one pouch, which is great.The flavor of these is nice. They're cooked just enough & not mushy. I like the light amount of salt, too.There's a recipe on the back for lentil soup, and I wouldn't recommend using these for soup because there are less expensive options to make soup with, and I think putting these in soup would overcook them. Use dry lentils for soup & save money.I am not working now, but I would definitely bring these to work for an easy lunch!I have just purchased these again & will continue to enjoy them. P.S.: I find no need to heat these, even if I refrigerate them, but, of course, that's up to you. Cheers.UPDATE: My reorder from same seller & brand DOES have a lot of liquid in the pouch, and customer service says there's no way to get around this, so I'm keeping them & will make do. Disappointing! Now I understand why others complained, & it's a shame there's no way to specify "without added liquid"!

Company not reputable and package can be watery
My initial review was to reflect this product as excellent; I changed my review upon purchase of subsequent product came being mostly LIQUID, which another reviewer was kind enough to give a 3 star review. I WILL NOT BECAUSE WHEN I COMPLAINED DIRECTLY TO THE PRODUCER OF THE PRODUCT, they had the audacity to tell me the product is always this way and tried to buy me off with a per package compensation. I KNOW THE NORMAL STATE OF THIS PRODUCT.....I never need to drain it and this time I had to do so.AMAZON: I EXPECT THIS NEGATIVE REVIEW TO BE PUBLICLY POSTED AND AM TAKING A SCREEN SHOT. I WILL BE COMPLAINING TO THE AUTHORITIES IF NOT
