Great Value
Great instruments are being crafted in Mexico. I’ve owned several Jazz Basses in the past, but this is my first “Player” series one. Count me satisfied with the build quality, playability, sound and looks. Craftsmanship is top notch, considering it’s a MIM and not USA made. No sharp frets. Neck is very comfortable. After a Hi Mass bridge upgrade and a setup, it plays smooth as butter (pun intended). Being a Jazz Bass, it is very versatile tone wise. This buttercream version looks beautiful. Pictures don’t even do it justice. Price might seem a bit steep, but I was able to get one on sale and it was totally worth it. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid Bass at a reasonable price.

Sounds great, plays great, I'm happy as a clam
I've wanted an actual Jazz bass for a while now and finally picked one up. I'm very glad I did. The shape of the neck makes it easier to play for me than some wider rounder necks. The action and setup, out of the box, was surprisingly correct. The bass has a little more heft to it than some others, but its shape and balance makes it wear easily. A well made strap mitigates the weight issue, anyway. The sound is great. I love playing with both pickups cranked full, which creates a nice flat deep thump tone. Running either pickup on its own creates the tonal quality you'd expect at the bridge or the neck. I'm very happy with this bass and will definitely pick up an even nicer Fender for my next one.

Crappy setup. Setup by a 5 year old
So I thought I was buying a great guitar from Fender. But what I got was a cheap feeling guitar. The frets were not smooth at all, tore my hands up big time. Had to spend 100 dollars on fret files. In fact the frets had cut edges that stuck out past the neck. Think razor blade. Also after having it a week I noticed a chip in the paint. I did nothing to hurt this base. It was in an area you normally wouldn’t check so this bass had been returned chipped and they just put it in another box and shipped to me.The QA was my biggest issue. I bought a Glarry base 120 dollars and it was setup better than this one. It had 5mm string height, pickups were too high casing flutter, the neck also required a full turn on the truss rod to get the neck to Fenders spec.Really disappointed, will not buy another MIM ever again. So if you dont know how to setup a bass, then buy someone else’s bass or pay an extra 150 bucks to get frets filed, string height set, intonation, pickup height and truss rod set.The dealer was great, no complaints there. But Fender. Never again.

Oh, it’s definitely a keeper.
Beautiful, and flawless. I’m pleasantly surprised that the fret lines are indicated by actual thin metal ‘fret’ inlays rather than what appeared to be cosmetic lines on the fret board. It adds a subtle crisp sound to the strings, which I was going for. I’m delighted that the included strings are new, very good quality flatwound strings. The bridge is more robust than I imagined, and the vol/tone knobs have a very good, smooth feel. Man, the neck is soooo buttery smooth! This is a fine, well-crafted instrument. I’m very particular about where I like the strings, and this bass has been set up as if it were adjusted for me personally. Unbelievable. Goosebumps. I love it!

Here’s to a quality instrument!
This is a beautiful Bass, it did need a set-up pretty bad out of the box. That being said, it shipped during the winter from Washington State to the Mid West so that’s understandable. Also be advised it does not come with a case of any kind. This Fender Jazz Bass was a gift for my 13 yr old son that has been playing for over a year now. I wouldn’t pay this much for a starter Bass, he has an Inexpensive Ibanez that he started with, after sticking with it for over a year I felt very proud to give this to him after his hard work!

Good bass, great value
This is a great bass. Very punchy and warm but, with good midrange growl too. The action was a bit high for my liking, but easily remedied with the included Allen keys.I really like the satin neck, which my vintage style p-bass doesn't have. It's slightly quieter than my active p-bass, but not terrible.Bottom line: this is a fantastic buy.

Great bass at a great price!!
Great sound, set up straight out of the box. Looks nice too. Also $40 or so less than anywhere else including “big box” music shops. Would take off half star if possible as package didn’t include gig bag as per advertised. However I received a credit from Amazon thru customer service and, as I already had a bag, no big deal!

It’s heavy
I don’t understand why the E string is the deep growling string and the others strings have no growl. That is strange to me. Also the bass is very heavy. Not sure I will keep it
