Nicely made. The side arm can be adjusted away from the camera so in Portrait any remote or mike cable can easily pass between rig and camera. The arm can be removed leaving the bottom plate as a base. I've small hands but my pinky ends up under. the camera...this base is a great fit and my pinky is nice and comfortable. The Allen key - you can take it with you as its got its own magnetic slot. This is a high recommendation.

For me this was a must-have accessory for my Z6/Z7 setup. The Nikon Z6 and Z7 are the future of Nikon cameras, but they never felt comfortable in my (large) hand. My little finger was always hanging off the end. For reasonable cost, and small weight/size increase you get a far more comfortable hold - and an Arca Swiss plate.I removed the vertical side-plate for travelling (it got in the way of the left hand ports when it wasn't extended). With just the base plate attached I can now easily access all ports and the battery bay - and keep the plate attached at all times (this also means that I don't have to keep the allen/hex key attached to the plate. Then in studio environments I can reattach the side plate and use the product as the base cage for smaller setups.The product is very solidly made - and protects the camera from alot of abuse. My only negatives would be, that my little finger is aware that it's sitting on something different to its friends (it sits proud of the grip a little, and isn't a smooth contour). And secondly, it's cold metal compared to the warmer rubber grip (which makes a difference in cold environments. But those comments aren't enough for me to reduce the star rating - it's still invaluable to me.

The item arrived super quick & well packaged. The item fits the camera like a glove, looks classy & very Nikon! It also gives a bit of size to what is quite a small camera! The L bracket fits on the Arca Swiss tripod head perfectly & is firm & steady. Excellent value for money & top quality product. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a simile Arca-Swiss compatible L-bracket for the Z 7, but gave this model a go due to the good reviews about its enhanced, larger grip. It's true that for bigger hands the Z 7 body can feel a little short, meaning your little finger – or 'pinky' as many others are calling it – has to wrap uncomfortably around the bottom of the body.Unfortunately, I found this SMALLRIG model made the camera even less comfortable to use. This is because the metal used it very smooth, and as the moulding meets the grip it flares outwards, which means the little finder needs to grip a larger shape. If the opposite were the case, and the metal had some texture similar to the body, it would handle much better.Also, the vertical portion of the bracket did not seem to make any contact with the camera body, which would affect stability and image sharpness, I think. Nor could it be adjusted to do so. See the official product pics, compared to other similar designs which have a protrusion that makes contact near the strap lug.On the plus side it's well built, and has lots of attachment points like a camera cage.

Nice addition to the Nikon Z6 and Z7 camera.Adding a little extra height to the camera gives a place for your little finger to rest on while protecting the base of the camera, but at the cost of additional weight and size.Sits well on my Arca Swiss tripod head and does everything it should.The design also allows connection of Peak Design slide straps on the base of the camera adjacent to the tripod mounting point, and also allows connection of f mount lens via the ftz adaptor without the hassle of removing the bracket everytime.

Arrived on time; my new camera arrived a couple of days later. This L bracket is extremely well designed / made and fits perfectly and is very secure indeed. I can easily recommend this for the Z7 II.

It's not inexpensive but when you open it, it's not cheap and that's the key. Well engineered, cut to fit the z6 perfectly and it's the embodiment of industrial chic. I am still struggling to come to terms with the diminutive size of the z6 compared to my D3s and this helps to bridge the gap (literally the large gap that my D3s has left).

This really helps add that last bit of space on the bottom for my pinky finger to rest on whilst also offering Arca compatible L bracket. Really helpful that it has enough space at the bottom to allow you to change battery without any significant issue.L bracket is removable as well should you be out and only need it as an arca plate.One thing to keep in mind however is that since it is all metal it will be cold to the touch when used outdoors in cold weather. Fairly obvious really but something to be aware of.
