The Gift of Gathering: Beautiful Tablescapes to Welcome and Celebrate Your Friends and Family

I bought this book because I wanted some ideas on how to entertain and set a table. It did not disappoint. The photos are beautiful and the information is helpful, especially for people like me that have never “entertained” before.If it had more ideas on planning (but not recipes), I would have given 5 stars. Overall though, good book. I do not regret buying it.

No. I just didn’t enjoy this book. The table settings didn’t seem creative to me. I disagree with candles on breakfast table but that’s just weird. But some of the settings seemed really gross: the pots filled with soil and dirt close to the food or faux fur as placemats. This just goes against any sanitary standards. The silverware could be polished a little bit better before the photo shoot.

I also loved the perfectly placed verses of Scripture that introduce you to each chapter! Bre also helps with organization, beautiful words of encouragement, and some great recipes. If you haven’t already ordered her book...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! This would also make a great gift for the Holidays or as a Hostess gift! Probably the thing that I love the most about The Gift of Gathering is how Bre breaks everything down so simply. Even someone who doesn’t have 100 dish sets or tons of different options would be able to replicate the ideas in this book. I love that Bre thinks on a budget. She believes in helping women to love their home and to create spaces that made them happy. This isn’t a over-the-top decorator here.. She is extremely practical and easy to understand. She communicates well and clearly. She gives simple tips that are easy to duplicate in any home!

I seriously love this book. It's pretty, it's full of ideas, and it's gotten me back into the fun of entertaining! Bre's got me pulling out old items, repurposing things I wouldn't have thought of, and shopping for new additions to bring life back into my table. I wanted this book to read and then set out for a pretty coffee table book, but I'm finding myself marking it up with highlights and bookmarks! I'm going to get a few more copies to give as gifts.

This book does an AMAZING job give you suggestions that you can both recreate, or simply use as inspiration to create something similar with your own twist! Bre does an amazing job opening up her home, and heart with every carefully selected word that fills the pages of the GORGEOUS book! She even gives stores to find some of her favorite items she uses in her home! Awesome read, a must buy book!!!

The Gift of Gathering is a wonderful book! The author describes in detail the how’s and why’s of setting a beautiful table. There is a detailed party planing guide timeline too! The tablescape techniques and elements are organized by season and color palette. The photos of the tablescapes are GORGEOUS! This is a must have book for anyone who loves to entertain!

This is a lovely, well thought out book on tablescapes. Having followed Bre on her Room for Rent blog, I knew it would be a home run. I have already given thought on how to incorporate her ideas in my own home. Thank you!
