Absolutely love these speakers
These speakers replaced my old desktop PC speakers I had for years, and I couldn't be more pleased with this new Logitech Z313 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System. I had them in my "Want This List" for a few weeks while I shopped around, but these always seemed to come out on top and checked all the boxes for me, so I finally pulled the trigger, and I'm glad I did. Great price too for the quality.

Works Well
They sound great, and are easy to set up. The base could do a bit more though. I got them on sale, and they sound better than some higher priced speakers. Overall, a great 5 star product.

Very good inexpensive speaker set.
I bought this set to replace 20yr-old Altec Lansing ACS45.2 multimedia speakers that gave a loud pop on a recent evening, finally giving up the ghost. The Altec Lansings were awesome speakers, and I think I paid more for them 20 years ago than I paid for these Logitech replacements. These Logitechs produce very decent sound for inexpensive computer speakers, but they pale in comparison to my poor, dead Altec Lansings. The subwoofer is about half the size (and weight) of the Altec's, so it isn't surprising that it produces less sound pressure overall, and that the sound is a bit muddier. The tone of this set is much sharper than the Altec's rounder sound. I certainly prefer the sound of the Altec Lansing ACS45.2, but they're not available anymore. These Logitech speakers will do for me, since I no longer listen to music on my PC. I think if I wanted to use these speakers for music, they would not satisfy me. Too sharp; not enough subwoofer, and no way to increase or decrease the subwoofer output. The sharper tone is good for voice clarity on YouTube videos and podcasts. I'm not a fan of the exposed driver look of the satellite speakers, much preferring the understated simple cubes with grill cloth of the Altecs. I also prefer the ivory color of the Altecs over the black and silver of the Logitechs. The remote-control pod seems largely unnecessary. It has a power button that turns the speakers on and off and a small green LED to indicate power status, but I can't see why I would use it. The pod also has a diminutive volume wheel, but I can't imagine using that either, since I control audio volume from the roller on my Logitech G910 keyboard. I just set the speaker control pod wheel to MAX and leave it there. Previously, I used a third-party (Radio Shack, I think) output pod that extended the speaker out and mic in from the back of my PC to a convenient location under the front edge of my desk; this was a simple little pod about the same size as the control pod for these Logitech speakers, but it provided remote headphone and mic plugs as well as a simple A-B button to toggle between them. The new Logitech control pod doesn't work that way. The power button toggles the power on and off for the speakers, but the headphone plug serves to mute the speakers whenever headphone or earbuds are plugged in anyway, even with the speakers remaining powered. I like to leave my headphones plugged in all the time, preferring the A-B switch of the old Radio Shack pod to select between speakers and headphones. With the Logitech pod, you can't leave your headphones plugged in without it causing the speakers to mute. The issue for me is wear and tear on the headphone plug. I switch back and forth between speakers (when I am alone) and headphones 2 or three times a day...that's a lot of cycles of insertion/removal for that plug. I doubt it's going to hold up for twenty years to compare with the Altec Lansings. We'll see how it goes. With my previous setup, the third-party A-B switch didn't matter. It was less than $10 and could easily be replaced anytime. The control pod on these new Logitechs is hardwired into the subwoofer (which also contains the power supply.) I guess all good things must end, and the Altec Lansing ACS45.2 were VERY good things! I didn't measure the cables, but they're plenty long enough to reach from the PC case (which sits on my desk behind my monitor) to both the subwoofer on the floor under the desk, and for plenty of separation between right and left satellite speakers on the desktop on either side of my 34" Ultrawide monitor. The wire to the control pod reaches from the back of the subwoofer on the floor against the wall to the front edge of the underside of my desk, where I mounted it with gel tape so I can easily access the headphone plug.

Good Sounding 2.1 system for the PC
I bought the Logitech Z313 speakers to replace an older 2.1 sound system that had developed a hum. Before connecting the Z313 to my PC, I plugged them in and confirmed they are silent even with the volume turned up. They sound fine for music and videos. I don't miss having a separate control for the bass/sub. The sound is generally well-balanced, and when necessary it's easy to tweak with a software equalizer. I also like that the system has a separate power button.

I heard these speakers in my co-worker office and i had to buy them after hearing their sound and performance. Absolutely great after connecting to my home computer.

Hard to beat, especially the price point
Got these for my daughter, listened to a few songs after install, and I'm pretty impressed. I think I might buy another one for my work

Cheap - you get what you pay for.
These speakers are very basic and underwhelming. Had I known that the drop in quality compared to my previous speakers would have been this bad I would not have purchased these. I wish I had spent 50 or more bucks and gotten something better. If you need basic speakers for your teenager these would be fine. But if you really want good sound, don't buy these.

These things absolutely KICK. [Tip on how to get the most out of your set]
Pros:1.Small footprint for the left and right speakers so I was able to reclaim a lot of space on my desk including my oh-so important mouse movement space.2. Nice black and silver accents match just about anything.3. The kicker is awesome. It's on the bottom of the woofer so you'll definitely 'feel' it. I'm sure my downstairs neighbors are enjoying it too!4. Very good lengths of cable to work anyway around a stand computer desk5. The volume and power switch panel is nice and just feels 'right' to use.6. No rattling at high volumes.Cons:1. The cabling is a bit of a mess because none of it is modular. Took a bit of time because I have a high standard of cable management. Results may vary.2. The volume/power switch doesn't have some sort of mounting feature like a screw hole or a clip to hook on to one of the primary speakers. The remote acts as a pass through so you'll have wiring coming up from behind your desk and back down to go back to the computer meaning it can very easily get pulled off the desk. Haven't dealt with it yet but I imagine it being a problem in the future.3. You CANNOT use the amplified sound in headphones without using the bass. This will take a bit of explaining. In total, there are two ports that you can physically plug a pair of headphones into. The first port is located on the volume/power switch for headphones. This is a direct pass through from your computer meaning plugging in your headphones to this port is the exact same as plugging in your headphones to your computer. Your computers volume will be the only thing to determine this ports volume. The second port is located on the back of the subwoofer and this is labeled as "Speaker Out". This ports primary use is to output the audio to the physical left and right speakers that come in this kit. You CAN plug headphones into this port to get the massively extended volume range in your headphones which is something I PERSONALLY really like when I'm playing war games; I just love blowing my ears out with war. HOWEVER, being plugged into this port with headphones instead of the speakers will NOT nullify the bass produced by the subwoofer. You will still hear sound only in your headphones, but the subwoofer will still be pumping out bass.A real life example to explain this to you is that if it's late at night, people are sleeping in your locale, and you still want to listen to loud music in your headphones; ideally louder than the volume your computer provides and therefore you are plugged into the back of the subwoofer, the subwoofer will STILL produce noise on a 1:1 scale if it were plugged into the speakers. You'll get plenty of volume in your ears, but the bass will still rattle your house.Other Thoughts:1. The left and right speaker are plastic. I was originally gonna put this as a con but realized that it's a personal preference of mine and that I KNEW they were going to be plastic from the get-go.2. Consider getting a heavy duty strip of double sided tape to mount the power and volume switch to your desk as it doesn't come with any mounting feature and can easily be pulled off of your desk.HUGE TIP:I'm an audiophile and while my system isn't set up with all the good stuff I'd need to create a premier audio experience, I can tell you of ONE key feature to turn on your WINDOWS BASED PC.In the bottom right, right click the speaker icon and click 'Playback Devices'. Double click your speakers and click on the 'Enhancements' tab. Scroll down to Equalizer and select the 'Powerful' profile. This should be your default for your computer AT ALL TIMES as it's the most balanced one there is in terms of getting an appropriate ratio of bass to treble. This is great for either casual music or gaming.
