great coverage.
We have an aggressive poodle mix who needs twice daily insulin shots. So far no one has been bitten while using them. I don't know if they would truly stop his teeth but it gives a sense of security...I was neutral on the heat resistance because I haven't exposed them to heat... they are warm to wear.

Nice product for the price.
I bought these, so I can wrestle with my kitten without getting my arms torn up. They work very well for that purpose. After several months of use there are some threads pulled out, but they still protect my arms.

SHORT SLEEVE OR LONG SLEEVE?
These Kevlar sleeves are adequate forearm protection for most jobs. They provide a safety shield against burns, cuts, scraps, and some sharp objects, not all. A needle or safety pin will go right through the material with no problem. The jobs that pose this risk are too many to list.Since most thorns are flared, they do not penetrate the kevlar as easily as needles.Years ago, I made a great pair of sleeves out of heavy cotton duck cloth and Velcro. They did the job but they were rather stiff and hot.Keep in mind, there are reasonable limits governed by common sense. If you jam your arm into a table saw or stab it with a ice pick, you might need to see a doctor. The sleeves I'm currently wearing have been washed several times. They are now 15 inches long from hem to hem. The new, unworn sleeves are 18 inches from hem to hem.The same two problems exist with both the Kevlar and my homemade sleeves:1. After being worn for awhile, they tend to fold down toward the wrist. Simply pin the protector to your shirt sleeve with a large safety pin. Pinning this material is easy. If you don't wear a shirt, you have a bigger problem than I want to belly up to.2. If these sleeve protectors are worn for hours in hot conditions, some folks might suffer from a heat rash on their arms which might be as painful as thorn pricks. This is nothing more than the same fungus that causes diaper rash. Again, the solution is simple. Coat your arms with 40% zinc oxide ointment and bath powder beforehand. Most drugstores and big-box marts carry their own store brands. It's commonly called diaper rash ointment and baby powder.Whatever works best usually is.

They work
I wear these for work where I am at high risk of human bites and let me tell you I had 2 pair of these on and a bite that would have taken some flesh only left a bruise.

New fistula protector
I'm a kidney transplant recipient and still have an A/V Fistula on my left arm. Your biggest fear is getting a cut there because you can bleed out fast. I have been wearing a custom made crocodile fistula protector for a lot of years. I wanted to get something more practical in the eventuality of going back to work. I saw this as a perfect alternative. The sleeve is very comfortable and like it says, cut resistant.I freaked out my wife and mother when I tested it out the first time I put it on. The only downside, which is minor, is that I live in Hawaii. It tends to get warm and a little heavy after extended use in the tropical sun. Other than that, I like it.

My husband takes Warfarin (Coumadin) and looked like a mess
My husband takes Warfarin (Coumadin) and looked like a mess. Bruises and skin tears all over his arms. We bought two products, SecureSleeves and these Kevlar sleeves. Both worked well but he uses them at different times. The others look more like skin and aren't as noticeable. He wears them when he's going to be around people/ public. He uses the Kevlar ones to work around the yard and garden.Huge improvement in the health of his arms. Now every time he has an issue, it was because he wasn't wearing his sleeves. In season he picks raspberries daily and this sleeve keeps him safe. I am thankful I rarely need to bandage him up any more.Only draw back was the yellow color makes him really stand out. It also gets stained and dirty looking. These were much cheaper than others I looked at, so replacing one too ugly is not a problem.

Good
I thought it would help with the bruising all over my arm and does help somewhat but it much better at preventing cuts.

I used these to keep my hands warm underneath of my fingerless gloves. I install siding for a living all year and wearing full gloves is not convenient in the winter. These things really helped keep the blood warm in my hands and prevent my fingers from freezing.
