Optimus H-5511 Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater

Looking at reviews and photos it seems people don't understand what a radiant heater is. This heater projects heat like the sun and has no fan. It will warm what is in front of it. It does not blow heat out. For this reason putting it on a tabletop is probably not the best idea.We use it for our cold feet while watching tv by putting it on the floor about 6 feet away. It works well for this. It's nice to have hi-lo settings. The cord is plenty long too. It's a good value.BTW I am an HVAC guy so you can take this review to the bank.

I was looking for a lower wattage unit to warm my feet (and me) while sitting at my desk. I read the reviews and saw that it was not really good for extending periods at the higher settings and I thought that would be just fine,It is better than fine!My desk is in front of some large windows and so cold air just comes flooding in. After trying a few positions, I out the unit off to my side at about a 45 degree angle instead of just at my feet (they were getting a little TOO hot. Hot wools socks is not a good smell).So I use the 400 W settings about 12 hours a day. It's perfect. The rest of the place is definitely a few degrees colder, but I don't care. I'm not in the rest of the place.I've also got chemical sensitivity and was worried about smells. I put it on the porch for a few hours to burn off any smells and it worked perfect (only 10 minutes on high).No noise at all. No fan. No blowing dust everything.If you want something for keeping you warm in a small specific area, this is the ticket.

I have ordered two of these functional, light weight infrared heaters. They are quiet compared to others (no fan) and heat up quickly and over a large area. Easily carried from room to room. They have a safety shutoff on the bottom so if the heater gets tipped over (cats/dogs!) it will shut off automatically. Excellent for the chilly mornings to heat up a room: kitchen, bathroom, home office. Good product! However, I have replaced these heaters due to having parts (plastic) break off of them. I still think they are amazingly efficient though perhaps more fragile than I would like.I wrote this review earlier and since my first heater, I have found that two more broke off the bottom shutoff switch IMMEDIATELY while moving them. Very disappointed in this! To get replacement parts for this tiny little switch off mechanism was outrageously expensive with shipping attached. Will not order one of these again

I moved in December & have been struggling to bring down an extremely high electric bill. A lady at the electric co. suggested I purchase infrared heaters as she did. It actually worked! I bought 2 of these & placed 1 in the hallway near the thermostat & the other in my son's north end room. In the evenings I turn it on low (1 bar) & at night on high (2 bars). I call them bars but they're like long skinny light bulbs. The heaters are totally silent but put out a lot of warmth. Stays cool in the back so can place close to wall out of walkway. Lightweight so easily moved from room to room. One of the two I purchased didn't work at all but when I emailed Amazon (they replied within an hour)! I'd just wanted a replacement heater & they began the process of sending one out right away. I was amazed & thrilled by their speedy, pain free & wonderful service. They even included a link so I could print out a label to return the old one for free. I just packaged it up in the box the new one came in, stuck the label on & dropped it off at UPS. Would have been nice if UPS could have picked it up from my home. Both heaters so far are doing great & I have no complaints what-so-ever and best of all, because they are infrared they use very little electricity & have actually brought my bill down!

I spend a lot of time painting in my garage workshop I don't want to try to heat the whole space, so I need a heater that heats me, not the air around me. I put the heater on the back of the workbench where it heats me from the waste up. Air stays cool, I'm warm. No fan noise, no stream of warm air. Just what I needed.

I rarely share reviews but I am surprised how low the score is for the reviews on Optimus H-5511 is on Amazon. I wanted to share how valuable this heater is!I purchased this with Amazon as the seller, we bought one around end of 2015, another one 2016 and they both are still working in excellent condition.I love that the heater is so quiet ( seriously no sound at all and definitely elevated our living style ) unlike the Heated fans blowing dry heated air, we were able to keep it on at night during the coldest winter and enjoy watching a movie and staying warm.I live in a small home about 500 sq in the city, this comes in very handy because we really don’t need a large central heating system and any noise can be so loud because of the space is much more compact.Previously I purchased many other kinds. Fans that can move left and right, tall, skinny, I tried many ones UNTIL I saw my school counsler was using this, I went in to the room and surprised that the cold metal classroom can be warm and quiet <3 it was a first sight falling in love to this precious heater.I later bought few more for my parents and for Christmas as white elephant gift.I will continue to purchase this model and I highly recommend this with other people as well. This is the best heater I ever had!

Heater is dependable and projects lots of good radiant heat. It’s not heavy duty but seems to be constructed well. This heater is great where you want heat projected multi feet. I am satisfied.

I bought this product a few days ago. as soon as I tried it, I found out that it does not work properly. only one rod heats up and sometimes it does not at all even though followed the instructions as mentioned on the manual.I contacted the seller, they told me that if I am returning it unopened they will charge me 10% and if I have opened it they will charge me 20%. they never mentioned it in the product details. How can one know if the product works or not without opening it and if the product is damaged then why should I pay 20%. I will not buy from this seller again.

This was the best purchase decision I ever made. It’s very warm and, importantly, it operates silently when plugged in, effectively warming the entire area.

When both elements are on, the safety eventually kicks in every time. In practice, I can only use the lower setting(one element) for any significant period of time. Other than that, it works fine and does a good job.
