Absolutely Wonderful!
I bought this mount to put my 60" Samsung 3d LED TV on the wall. The way my place is set up, if I got a mount that would extend far enough from the wall, I could pull my TV out from the wall, and angle it 90 degress and get a perfect, straight on view of it from my kitchen while I cook or entertain guests. The mount is incredible. My TV is pretty awesome, but guests get more blown away by the mount than anything (my mom even took a video of how it worked on her phone to show people). It wasn't that difficult to mount either. Finding studs, drilling holes, mounting to the wall and adjusting the mount to be centered on the wall took maybe less than an hour for myself and one friend to do. Don't expect to do this yourself, as the mount weighs about 70-80 pounds. It's incredible duty. It actually took longer to get the shelving installed under it and the cables run than it did to get the Chief wall mount set up.All in all, I couldn't be happier with it. It works INCREDIBLY well with no sag, sway, or any other issues. I believe, hands down, it's the best mount you can buy. If you're looking for a mount that can easily hold anything you attach to it, than this is the one for you.

Excellent mount, some room for improvement
My TV (65" Panasonic) has been sitting on top of an entertainment cabinet in a recessed wall area (one of those ones oriented towards RPTVs) and I've longed to attach it to a big wall mount that would let me not only raise it slightly above the furniture, but also extend it out a little bit further towards the viewing area (the 65VT30 has a large stand with a forward lip that requires me to sit it back a good 12").In searching for wall mounts I found almost none that would extend the TV past 20" from the wall. I wanted something that would let me extend the TV at least 30" from the wall so that I could bring the TV right "out" into our large viewing area that has seating for about 8. This Chief was pretty much the only one I could find that looked to combine very high quality construction with the extension range I wanted.I ordered this from an Amazon reseller and it showed up just three days later. One key advantage of this mount is that it is shipped pretty much fully assembled. You really won't need to spend a huge amount of time measuring on your wall for individual components or manually assembling a bunch of second rate hardware manually before you can even use the device. When you look at this sucker you know you are getting what you paid for. It has absolutely top notch engineering and machining. I don't care if it was made in China, America, Pakistan or Africa, it is evident that whoever does the tool/die work for this thing takes their craft seriously. All of the parts are precision machined (not a single loose burr or bad cut anywhere to be found) and the materials themselves including all hardware are of absolute top quality (with the notable exception of the tilt/tension knob which is puzzlingly plastic). Seriously, you won't find a better mount out there, at any price.Installation is pretty simple. Simply measure for your top lag bolts, screw them into the studs (you better make sure you're in the center of the studs, at least for the top ones) and then hang the entire 67 lb monstrosity on the wall. Pretty simple eh? Well, it isn't complicated but there is room for improvement. At the price Chief is charging there really is no excuse not to provide a mounting template. I was actually rather surprised NOT to find one, since it's so easy to put your lags in and find out that they are just slightly off making the entire bracket off-level (yes, this happened to me, not once, but twice). They really should do this considering the price. The second thing with installation that's a little bit of a trick is that the washers for the lag bolts need to be put on the bolts when you start attaching them to the wall, then you need to put the wall mount on (make sure you have a helper, this thing is heavy) and slip the washers through the bracket holes so that they are against the bracket, then slide the mount over so that the washers are secure against the track portion of the mount. It's not terribly complicated but an explicit step from Chief in the manual would have been helpful as I was scratching my head a little on this one. Also, it's worth noting that the bottom bracket looks like it's incorrect as the mount offset holes are opposite the ones on the top. This is apparently a safety feature so that the mount cannot be dropped off of the wall by simply sliding/pushing it along till the lags are in the opening area... if someone were foolish enough to do this, the opposite holes at the other end of the mount should prevent it from being completely dislodged from the wall. It does mean that when you drill/install your bottom lags you will need to measure from the top ones and then put them in so that they are slightly offset from where you would think they would be... again, a template would have solved all of this trouble as long as the instructions/template told you to put the top bolts on, hang the mount, then attach the bottom bolts. After the mount is on the wall the rest of the install is fairly straight-forward. You attach the included mounting kit to the back of your television (be warned, there are versions of this mount that are sold WITHOUT the mounting interface, and you will probably need it unless your TV was expressly designed for this mount).. this hardware is also absolutely top notch. It even includes a pack of hardware to fit literally every TV ever made. I ended up keeping all of the extras as the bolts/spacers are higher quality than what you can usually get by spending $30 on an interface kit at a local hardware store. After the interface is assembled properly on your TV, simply extend the mount from the wall, and hang the TV on it. There is a latching mechanism that locks the bottom right bolt into place, it is supposed to make an audible "click" although I had to wiggle mine around to get it to engage. It is a handy feature though as you can attach a padlock to it so that it can't be removed by any easy means, preventing someone screwing around and dropping the TV on the floor.Once your TV is mounted a very very important step is to adjust the arm tension, tilt tension, etc, so that you can move the TV around relatively easily. Someone in another review commented they had a hard time moving the mount, but there is the ability to adjust the tension on both arms so that it's easier to move. The mount tension by default is set for a 200 pound TV, which 99% of consumers don't have (even my 65" only weighs 120 pounds). Also, with my display the tilt tension was actually too low so it was easy when adjusting the TV position to have it wobbling all over the place. The instructions are pretty clear about how to adjust all of these, so keep your manual. So, are there any problems/drawbacks to this mount? Well, there are a couple of things that prevent me from giving it a full 5-star rating;1. As previously mentioned it's inexcusable at this price not to include a template to hang on the wall, which would make installation more fool-proof.2. Chief includes a wrench and bolt extender that allows you to adjust the arm tension as previously mentioned. However, the bolt extender does not extend far enough and as a result, when I was adjusting tension the wrench slipped and scuffed some of the paint off the arm. This was obviously my fault, but they could have provided tools that would have made it more difficult/impossible to cause this damage... or at least some touch up paint if you do scuff this beautiful (and EXPENSIVE) piece of hardware.3. My interface kit actually came with two lateral supports that did not match each other. I was very lucky that the offsets on both of them worked well enough to get the interface fully installed on my TV. It is very clear from the pictures in the manual that this was wrong, as it shows both lateral supports having a large number of holes, which matched one of my two supports, but not the other (other than the number of holes they were identical)... I would guess this was an error at the factory, but it was disconcerting on such an expensive piece of gear to get a wrong part. If somehow this is correct than the manual should clearly state that they are supposed to be different. I suspect that the one part that was included with mine that looked "wrong" was from a different kit or an older version that didn't allow for such fine spacing as the newer part.4. The latching mechanism did not work very well, and my wife and I had to play around with it (worried the whole time the TV was going to drop onto the floor) to get it engaged (we actually disassembled the mechanism and put it on manually in the "locked" position).5. The tilt tension knob is plastic. This is sort of inexcusable as it could easily be stripped. They should provide a metal one, considering the exceptional quality of everything else included.6. Once installed, it is difficult to move the TV around, simply because in some positions it is hard to get enough force on the arms (if fully extended you actually have to manually pull the arms out to the sides to be able to push the TV back in against the wall). I would have liked to see at least an option to mount a small bar under the mounting interface so that you could manipulate the TV position more easily.... most people will install the TV and never touch it, but for us, we want to be able to move it around, and considering the size of our TV, this means grabbing the entire TV and pushing it around on the mount... it would have been nice to have a small "handlebar" or something similar under the chin of the TV that would allow us to accomplish this without having to grab the glass screen and risk scratching it, not to mention smudging it all up each time. That's about all I can do to find fault with this mount. All in all it is a fantastic piece of gear, but a few little things prevented me from being able to give it a full five star rating. If chief addressed these things this mount would absolutely be the best that you can get... and even with the faults, it's pretty tough to find anything better on the market, even at this price.

This is a high-end mount? It stinks on ice.
The mount arrived today and... MADE IN CHINA.Please be aware that the design of the product is good. It indeed installs quite easily in my corner configuration and it can support the 55 in television fine. But for this price, the last thing I expected was a marginal product in a damaged drop-shipped box made out of that cheap cardboard from a low-cost Chinese manufacturing plant. The quality of the mount is very questionable - they clearly used heavy gauge metal and the articulating joints are quality made, but the remainder is exactly what you are thinking of when you imagine something manufactured inexpensively in China. For instance, the tilt adjustment knob was stripped right out of the box. On a $600 piece of equipment I expect them to at least put a person at the end of the assembly line checking for defective product, this is ridiculous. The lateral rotation is mickey-mouse as well, a single pot-metal bolt "bearing." The frame was misassembled out of the box, luckily I checked for plumb before drilling holes or the bottom bolts would have missed the studs. I shouldn't have to rebuild a product right out of the factory packaging like I did.It wobbles and clanks when moved around so I don't do it. Basically it is equivalent to a mount that costs 1/3 the price. I wish I had put a 2x8 across the corner and purchased a cheap flat mount from a box store instead. I didn't know that "high-end" mounts have such ghastly quality. I guess no one makes anything better so save your money and buy a cheap one, this is one case where it actually IS the same thing.

Everything I hoped it would be...
Sometimes manufacturers disappoint their customers by only supplying the barest core-essentials for the installation and use of the product. Not true in this case. Not to oversell, however, ALL of the detailed specs, illustrations, directions, hint/tips and materials & hardware were supplied and well explained. I'm a bit picky about workmanship. I fully appreciate Chief's mount and its solid contruction and smooth finish. All bolts, spacers, and washers were included for the frame AND the TV interface bracket. This mount extends 37" from the wall and supports our Panasonic Plasma with ease. There are adjustable bolts to increase/decrease the tension for the movement of the arms, rotataion, pitch, tilt and pivot. This mount delivers professional results all the way. Once you find the center of the studs, you are golden! My wife even complimented me on the results in front of her friends. Amazon Pricing, Prime Shipping, Chief Dual Arm Mount lets any handy-man become "Six Feet Tall & Bullet-Proof!"
