looking for ways to interest your child in something other than screen time? Look elsewhere...
If you are looking for new ideas to get your child interested in something other than a video game, tv or computer I suggest you look elsewhere. The sample of this book is misleading imo, the first pages sound like it contains a collection of projects and fun ideas for kids that would rather spend time indoors on one device or another unfortunately most of the activities in this book are pretty common general activities...the rest are a bit too specific needing certain items to enjoy.I wanted a collection of fun activities that inspire, something a child could read (with parent or alone), chose an idea that sounds fun and be excited to go try...however these are really common activities! We read the whole book (in less than an hour) and found the same general outdoor activities that most children or families do already! Basically, if I want to tell my son to go climb a tree in summer or roll in leaves in autumn I am certain I can dream up those activities....if I want to give my child a recipe I can find one quite easily.....The concept of this book is great, a bunch of fun activities kids may want to do categorized by the season, however the work just wasn’t put into it! Most of these things any average child has done already without much thought. It’s just a list of average everyday activities, don’t waste your money.

Only recommended for the most basic beginners at discovering nature
I should have listened to other reviews before buying this, but was feeling pressured to add something to my cart in order to get the free shipping as the battery on my computer was dying (one of the items I was ordering was a replacement charging cable because mine had just been broken) so I rushed into the purchase.Big mistake! As others have noted, this book may be useful for outdoors-impaired city slickers. But chances are, if you have become familiar with any slightly outdoorsy activities in you life, you will find the suggestions made by the authors essentially useless. I had been hoping to at least find some creative new recipes, crafts, games, activities, SOMETHING I had never thought of before. Alas, there was nothing interesting or novel to be found in this book, and I looked thoroughly from cover to cover.Literally everything in there is the most basic "duh!" kind of things to do outside. I guess if you've never left the limits of a paved city environment, you might need to be told how to catch butterflies, make snow angels, or collect leaves. My family however, are expert outdoorsers by this book's standards. I'm pretty sure my oldest kid had done everything in here by the time she was five...Seriously, if you and/or your kids have ever ventured past your own sidewalk more than once, don't bother with this one. If you really need some new ideas for having fun in nature, do what I did and just look it up on Google or Pinterest. It's a few bucks cheaper and will likely give you much better results anyway...

Essesntial outdoor adventure book for kids & adults!
Stacy & Ken did an excellent job compiling a list of outdoor adventure activities that can be enjoyed by kids & adults alike. I’ve been ‘checking-off’ the outdoor adventures I have done, & taking a trip down memory lane! I’m amazed at the activities I have not done in my 34 years, such as drying gourds.I love the layout of the book by season with additional games, activities, and recipes scattered throughout. The compilation of outdoor adventures is well-rounded & provides not only day-to-day activities you can do where you live, but ideas you can add to your list of vacation adventures, such as tap a maple tree. The Kids Outdoor Adventure Book has become an essential gift I give to my expecting friends & those already raising the next generation.

Can't wait to use this book
This book is chock full of ideas and projects to get your children involved in nature and the out of doors. Digging worms to then go fishing with, skipping stones on water, building a bird cage, planting a garden then making your own meal from it, paddling a canoe, counting the legs on a starfish, hugging a tree and listening to birds are all a part of this multi-age use book. Each suggestion has a short how-to but not in huge detail. I like this aspect of the book because it encourages researching and digging deeper to find out more about the how, why, when and where of things. I highly recomend this book.Packaged well with two other books, it arrived in a timely manner.

User friendly for grandparents!
Sometimes it's difficult to connect with your grandchildren who are all different ages and are used to sitting in front of a video screen or having some kind of earphone in! This book is truly the answer. Divided by season, there are 448 ideas that will allow children of all ages to be entertained and/or challenged while getting some fresh air and exercise. Set up with little check boxes, the kids can even keep track of how many of the activities they accomplish. In addition to the 448 ideas, there are also recipes, projects, and games sprinkled throughout the book. No special equipment or skills required for most of these activities. Just grab the grandchildren, go outside, and start doing things together to build great memories!

Tons of great ideas!
I love this book, I bought it last year to get some fun ideas to do with my 1 and 4 year old and they have some really unique and fun outdoor activities we have slowly been crossing off. If you like the outdoors and have kids I would recommend you buy this for some fun memories to be made.

Cute book for kids growing up
Living in the city, lots of these things are impossible or not local BUT I still love this book which is why I gave it 5 stars. Our children shouldn't lose touch with nature, especially now with all this technology. This book brings nature back to life w kids even if you have to plan a few weekend trips for a handful of things. It's quality time with your children. I recommend to buy.
