Zurn RK1-BVHD Wilkins Repair Kit for 1" Ball Valve Handle, Blue Stainless Steel Ball Valve

They are not Stainless Steel handles the only Stainless Steel are the nuts. The first I did when they arrived was to get my Magnet and the handles jumped right up on the Magnet the handles that was replaced were over twenty years old and were so rusty I almost had to replace the entire valve. I finally got them off they were so rusty. And the valve had a bad leak. I was able to fix the leak.I bought three pairs of handles this way I can change them more frequent.

Sold as stainless steel. The package clearly says "Kit includes two each: Nickel Plated Handles, Nuts". The nuts are stainless. The handles have an SS stamp but are very magnetic, and do not appear to be plated. If they are stainless they have a very high iron content. Why sell as stainless when the package says nickel plated?

I bought this to replace a corroded handle on a water shut off valve for my sprinkler system. I could not find a store that just sold the handle for my valve. I didn't want to dig up and replace the old valve just because the handle broke off. I bought this valve even though it is not the same brand. It works just fine. I did have to buy a larger nut. It still beats having to dig up and replace the old valve. Very pleased so far.

This is not just for Wilkins valves. I was able to repair my old 3/4” ball valve handle (unknown brand) with this one.It is nice that this is stainless steel. My other one rusted completely and disintegrated outdoors.

Nice that you can just buy the handles. We have a lot of customers that have these units that have rusted or missing handles. So it is nice that you can just buy the handle portion. The delivery was on the slower side so plan ahead.

This product is a low grade stainless steel valve and will rust if in an outside environment. I called the supplier Zurn Wilkins to confirm and was told by Abby that yes it is very low grade and will rust.The reason I purchased these were so they would not corrode and fall apart like the originals on my valves so now I will have the same problem with these down the road. Somewhat disappointed.

I ordered these as a replacement for the (rusted out) valve handles on either side of my sprinkler pressure regulator. They work great, but it would help if they could be had a little bit longer, for leverage. The stainless steel should not rust like the old ones did.
