Starter New CUCV 6.2L GM Diesel 24V M1008 M1009 10479611

I own a 1984 Chevrolet m1028 cucv. And this truck has went thru 2 direct drive starters and 1 gear reduction (was poorly made and defective from the factory) previous starter was gear reduction and it lasted less than 6 weeks. And it cost $425 locally. Bought this one and night and day difference. This one is about 10 pounds heavier, has a bendix drive bearing cover (more expensive one didn’t) the front brace mount on this one is a bolt machined into starter (other starter it was a cheap screw that was constantly loose) the more expensive starter sounded like the old truck air starters just Whined and was slowly getting weaker and weaker. If you have 22.1 compression ratio you need a well built starter to handle that torture and abuse. This starter sounds like a normal starter and starts Diesel engine rather quickly. Very impressed so far with this starter.

Exact Match for what was order and searched for. At times listing say this is a fit for your vehicle and it’s isn’t. Which is very frustrating. This one is a match! Works great thus far.

Didn’t work very long only use truck very little and starter is dead won’t even do anything even trying to jump starter nothing
