Puts out the heat!!!
This little unit really puts out the heat. I have used just the eye on my gas stove for heat but with this little heater carefully positioned, sitting on top of the eye, heat is 3 or 4 times better. I plan to order a second one with my next amazon order. It only comes with the main unit and handle for the top in case you need to move it while it is hot.The bottom part shown in photo does not come with the unit. It is specifically made for a gas stove.

This little guy works!
I bought this to heat my tent paired with my collapsible backpack burner. My backpack burner has a little bit smaller base than a normal camp stove so I had to lightly modify this to fit my setup. Once ready I fired it up in the tent with proper ventilation. And no one was sleeping. Didn't take long to heat up. Tent door was wide open it was 41 outside within 6 minutes tent was unbearable. (I had my stove on high) turned my burner down to low tent door was still open. Tent held a 60° temp. This little thing works. Happy customer.UpdateI bought a slightly larger camp stove as I didn't like the stability or the flame size of the last one. New stove has a much better base and a wider flame area. I removed the modifications I previously did to the heater and returned it back to the way I received it. Heater latches securely on new stove as it was designed. Heater is much easier to adjust output with the proper burner. And honestly never needs to be turned up more than low. Unit works much nicer with proper burner. Kinda makes sense haha.

Fits perfectly over an alcohol gel ('sterno') can!
These are perfectly sized to work with sterno-style cans. Winter came early this year, and I'm trying to find ways to add heat to my ground blinds. Propane heaters give off too much heat and light for that. I just want a little heat to add in the blind. Alcohol gel cans are about right - max temp is ~174º, they have a mostly dim blue flame, they're fairly safe to tip, quiet, with no smell when they're burning. But the uncovered flame is too dangerous. You can use big food cans with added holes to cover it, but the size of the gel cans is a little big - 3-3/8" is the usual size. The inside diameter of these "heaters" is 3-1/2". It's slightly smaller at a seam, 3-7/16, but you can grind that down if you want. And yes, it fits *perfectly* over a 7oz. sterno-style gel can.If you're using it like I am, you'll want to run it at home for a bit to burn off any oils (things always seem to smoke some when first heated). Of course, burning anything in an enclosed space has CO and CO2 hazards, but in a ground blind there's plenty of fresh air. The alcohol gels burn very cleanly too.

It's important to burn this in prior to use.
Ok, here is this device as I know it. It works well, IMO. A can of sterno under this is not going to generate a lot of heat, Basic physics people, heat takes energy. It's also very important to burn this thing in prior to using it. Once burned in, (I didn't burn this in prior and ended up with a nice cloud of smoke in my motor home, no problem started the exhaust vent and it was gone in less than a minute). When placed on one of my propane stove top burners. After a bit i warmed up my living room nicely. I had the burner set to medium low.My motor home has a great heating system, it just hits my propane tank a bit hard for my taste. It seems more efficient to me.Be for warned though. You're not going to set this on top of a small candle and have it generate any significant heat. Use your heads people.

Functional, but not fuel efficient
This device essentially creates a pseudo radiator to help spread heat around from a small stove. In an emergency, it indeed works well. It uses quite a bit of fuel - especially if you have the stove wide open. So, you do not want this as a primary heat source. But it works great in an emergency. It also works for applications like an ice shanty or other small enclosure. Just make sure that you allow for adequate air circulation. Sealing up a space allows the heater to be more efficient, but it also prevents you from having enough air to breathe.

Totally not compatible with the recommendations of customers also purchased.
I am pissed this product was recommended as a additional purchase for the camp stove I bought and does not fit at all. Refardless of its temporary intended application this product doesn’t even sit on top of the burner I bought and was suggested as a pair purchase. The heater falls off the burner red hot and is a fire and safety hazard

Not a gimmick
I haven't tried this in actual cold weather, hence only four stars, but it sure works well to take the chill off in moderate chilly temps. I haven't any insulation in my van so the real test will probably come this fall. I happened to get this on sale so it's a win win for me .
