Bezel doesn't turn. Keeps great time. Very lightweight and comfortable
Con - Bezel doesn't turn. Acrylic lens. Pro's - Good looking, Keeps great time. Solar - no batteries. 1 day in the sun and it is charged for about 9 months. Very lightweight and comfortable. Sturdy and a good daily wearer. It's a workhorse watch suited for active 'working' men like me. Takes a licking, keeps on ticking. Most accurate watch I have - keeps exact time. My Timex expedition Solar gains about a second a week, and my Casio Solar loses about 2 seconds a week, but this thing is spot-on when I check it against the Atomic Clock time.

solar watch
Over all 4/5. Great time keeping, easy to tell time (can be better), and hands do illuminate but fade over time in darkness. For $42, awesome value. Some say you can get it for $25, and it is very much worth it!My dislike are: hour indexes do not glow like the hands nor the numbers. Only50m water resistant which means the watch can not be submerged for extended time.Great value watch. For $50ish more you can get the Timex expedition north, which I think is better: indexes to glow and is 100m water resistant. Next step would be a sne331 citizen for about $169 currently or a Seiko for $199.

Good value for $50, but returning
Pros:-Large face-Solar powered-Light weight, comfortable strap-Date window-Easy to read/minimalist presentation-Matte black finish for less glare-Deep dial, with marked dial ring and high contrast orange indicatorsCons:-Lume lasts about ten minutes after UV light charging-Lume is less bright than my four year old Seiko-ONLY the two hands are lumed (nothing on the dial)-No lumed "noon" indicator (so you can't tell the time in the dark) [you need the position of the two hands and a referenced against the 12 o'clock position in order to tell the time. This watch gives you 2/3]-Hands are almost the same width, making distinguishing between the hour and minute hands difficult in lighted conditions, and very difficult in low lighting-Bezel does NOT rotate (no practicality, only fashion)-Solid plastic bezel, crystal, and case-Muddy gray marker and text does not contrast/stand out well against the blackCompared to my Seiko SNK805, this watch is:-thicker (even though the Seiko is an automatic)-wider (easier to read)-louder (every movement of the second hand has a "click")-crown at the 3 o'clock position (as opposed to the more comfortable 4 o'clock of the Seiko)-plastic case VS steel case-ZERO lume on the watch dial-only a date window, compared to day/date of SeikoNice enough for the price, but without the rotating bezel (the main reason I chose this watch), lumed dial, and too-similarly sized/shaped/colored hands, this watch is being return. A nice starter watch, but a step down from what I have relied on for years.

I Like Everything About It...
I've had a Timex "Expedition" watch for about the past twenty-five years now, and the old one still works great! So why get this new one? The battery was probably about to wear out with the old one, and I liked the fact that this one was "solar", so I would never have to worry about a new battery again. I really liked the way this one looked too. The watch face is probably 30-40% bigger than my old one, and has the solar-cell "honeycomb" look to the background of the watch face. Pretty cool. I really do like everything about how it looks and feels. The velcro band is also wider and feels very secure. For the price, I think it is an excellent watch. And if it is anything like my last one, it should last longer than I do. So I guess that is long enough. I have only good things to say about old, and now new, Timex "Expedition" watches. They are simple, sturdy, dependable, and good. What more do I need. Jim W.

Stout, Simple, Tough
It’s not the flashiest working man’s watch, but it’s a solid choice. It’s comfortable, tells time accurately, takes abuse and still works and looks good, and the solar-powered feature is kinda cool. The case is a composite material and resists damage to both the finish and crystal. To add, the crystal is inset enough into the bezel that edge chipping and scratches aren’t much of a concern. It’s a tad thick overall, but that doesn’t bother me. It can catch on stuff when reaching into tight spaces. Once in a while the crown will kick out stopping timekeeping, but that is rare. The OEM single piece strap isn’t the greatest but it’s sturdy and comfortable, though the metal loops and buckle will get paint dings exposing the metal underneath. More importantly, it cleans up and dries quickly. I get messy throughout the day, so that is a plus. It’s very lightweight, which for me took some getting used to, but I have no serious complaints. If you need a rugged watch, check this one out. I hope it lasts for years.

Wastes Time Instead of Keeping Time
This is a solar watch, and the battery charges with exposure to light. I followed the manufacturer's instructions, which are found on the website rather than included with the watch, on charging the watch. The instructions say a full charge takes 5 hours in direct sunlight, longer if placed on a window sill with sunshine outdoors, longer if it's cloudy, longer if one relies on indoor artificial light. I put it on the window sill and checked it every day for ten days. It did not charge at all. So I am returning it. What a colossal waste of time! Other negative reviews have mentioned it won't hold a charge or keep good time, so I suspect it's just as well that I'm returning it. I guess Timex isn't the reliable brand it once was.

It looks good.
It is solar, so no batteries dying, it seems tough, ready for hiking or time on the bicycle and it is affordable.

Minimalista y practico
