I did not buy this for welding. I have an outdoor kitchen with a built in grill. Behind the grill is a granite backsplash and bar counter. The grill gives off a lot of heat and smoke. This can stain and damage the granite over time. I use the blanket to cover the granite while cooking. It works perfectly for this. It folds up small, so its easy to store in a draw when not in use.

I initially bought this for my CO2 laser in case anything ever caught fire. So far no issues. But my husband recently got into knife making. I'm the safety nut who is always about being careful, especially fire safety so when he went to do his oil quench I insisted on being present with a fire blanket. He wasn't worried but when that fire got big and didn't go out he was a bit more worried. We had to layer the blanket twice and wrap the bucket to smother it because the smoke was coming through the fabric so it had too much air flow but after a couple minutes it stopped. I was expecting black and melted inside but the blanket it barely singed just some smoke residue, so we can use it again next time. 5 stars all day my home is still here in one piece

My smoker was not insulated and had a difficult time getting it up to 225°. I bought two of these and held them on with 110 pound magnets. I was able to reach temperature perfectly.

Haven't opened the package yet, but there is clearly not 2, nor does the product packaging state that there are 2, even though the listing DOES say 2-pack. It is pretty heavy, as mentioned in another review. Maybe about 8-ish pounds, but I'm not sure. I am hoping to make a fire pit carrier with it because I can only find grill bags and covers for sale that will not fit a 22" diameter fire pit. Those cost around $50 and up, so that's why I haven't opened the package or returned yet -- I am trying to decide what to do regarding the false advertising.

Purchased the 4x6 foot welders blanket to use under a wood stove in a hot tent to protect tent floor from fallen embers. The size is more than adequate for the small stove. It is thick and fairly heavy and the sewn quality looks very good. Husband says it is good quality and he would know. Would recommend for purchase.

I use this to cove my smoker in the winter in the mountains, it’s cold!This has greatly helped with fuel efficiency and besides the discolouration from the smoke, the product still looks brand new!I don’t fully wrap around my smoker but you could get some clips and comfortably wrap around a Traegar.
