A good blade holds an edge well. This one held it for a good while before it started losing it's razor edge. One spin across my whetstone and it's back to shaving. Good for just about everything.

I purchased this for my man who is a chef. As some of you may know, chefs are very particular about their knifes, and even though he wasn't looking for the best knife out there, it had to fit a number of 'must-haves'. It had to be a full tang knife, it had to have a wood handle, it had to be made of German Steel, and it had to be simple in design (no Damascus blade, no insets in the handle, no flashy colours, etc). I'm happy to say that the Tuo Blackhawk Nakiri knife exceeded his expectations!The packaging was really well done and extra consideration was made to keep the blade safe and secure. A handy wipe cloth was also provided in the box, though I am told chefs don't really use it. General comments from the chef is that the knife itself is well balanced and well-made, the blade is extremely sharp and has held its edge over the past month while being used daily, and the handle is surprisingly really comfortable. The knife handle was completely smooth and the pins do not protrude and are not damaging to the skin, unlike what some of the other reviewers mentioned. I thought I would share the recipient's comments (since he is a chef) in case it could help other potential buyers. If you can get this knife for under $40 as I did, it's a great bargain for the quality of knife you are getting.

Low-quality handle with sharp tang protruding along all 4 edges of its length, returned to Amazon. I did not use the product as the handle is not comfortable.

Acceptable quality knives for the price, I'd say.Negative reviews complained that the tang and rivets tuck out of the handles rather than being flush, some of it sharp enough to cut your hand. The set I got did havee the tang and rivets protruding a bit out of the handles, but not quite sharp enough to do my hand any damage during use.I wouldn't have bothered returning them for a refund if the seller would have been able to replace the knife block that came with the knives, seeing that the knife slots were chipped with some kind of white fluff or mold in there, but they informed me that unfortunately they don't do knife blocks on their own, if I wanted it replaced, I'd have to send the entire knife set back to amazon for a replacement. Didn't feel these ones anymore so I'm gonna browse for a different set.Ps. Quick note for future buyer that most of the knives' weight are in the handles for these.

Had an issue with this product but Sinoloco contacted me straight away and offered a replacement product. Very gratifying in this day and age to receive excellent customer service.
