Gedore best locking pliers, worth the money
These are the finest locking pliers (generic phrase for what everyone in the US calls visegrips) I have found. They are better than the Irwin Visegrips (now made overseas) and better than the Knipex. I believe Hazet and Knipex are the same. The picture shows the three together. You may wish to own all three (and Grip on), as the jaws are all slightly different, but the Gedore is the best of the bunch. The steel seems better, they are tighter tolerance, the handles are mixers. One thing which may not be obvious from the picture or the description is that the release tab is longer AND wider so it is much easier to release and less likely to pinch.

Great locking pliers! Not what I ordered.
I ordered the 10" pliers and received one that's about 7 1/4" long. I knock off two stars for the incorrect order and then add one back because I really like it. It fits the hand perfectly (standard large glove) and is well built. Lighter in weight and build than the Stahlwille of the same size, but more rigid with almost no side to side movement when open. I love the proper style tension release lever. I'm a fan of the satin finish.

Excellent Quality
These are without a doubt the best quality locking pliers you can buy. Very ergonomic due to the reversed release lever, tight tolerances with no loose rattling components. Better than my old USA made Vice Grips.

An exact copy of my old vice-grips
I expected something a bit "European" about these, but they seem to be an almost exact copy of my old vice-grips - which is not a bad thing. Quality is good, metal hardness seems adequate (the jaws are nicely machined and stayed sharp after a couple of death-grip tightenings on a hardened steel rod). The grip profile (straight on one side, concave on the other) seems to work well for gripping either flat or round pieces. For some reason mine did not come with the plasti-dip blue on the release, but they don't appear to be knock-offs. It seems like a lot to pay for 7" locking pliers, but there's nothing quite as infuriating as locking pliers that won't stay locked, or warp, or don't grip aggressively, or fail in some new and creative way.

The finest locking pliers I've ever used
The finest locking pliers I've ever used. Everything is so tight on this tool, no slop like other locking pliers. Arrived almost too stiff, but a little oil in the joints and it's absolutely perfect. The larger release paddle took a little getting used to, but now I love it. You can effortlessly release the lock one handed while keeping hand pressure and control. The jaws are well hardened and do not mar easily. Overall fit and finish is downright superb. Highly recommended, these are worth the high price!

This is the real deal!
Just got these in the mail when I arrived home, and I can't say enough good things about these locking pliers. There was a time long ago that these were made in America, not so any more. The ones advertised by Irwin and Husky are very cheap and probably will not hold up to the riggers of heavy maintenance. These are very well made, with a smooth flawless frame and an unlocking mechanism that preforms well. If you're constantly working on vehicles like I do, you can't go wrong with these.

QC could be better
I'm not sure if manufacturers are selling off QC rejects right now with manufacturing shut down, but these arrived not looking like $44 vise grips to me. There were scratches all over the handle and small bits of metal sticking up. There was either grease or rust stains at the joints.

A quality well designed tool
A very useful tool ...bought the 12 inch as it gives leverage ..I like the design of the Jaws as it grips a bolt head well without undue damage ..I would definitely recommend this tool .." visegrips"
