Great old time series
Ii caught a few of the eposides when I was a kid. My parents would sent the 6 kids off to bed, pop some corn and watch the series. I enjoy it now. Its hard to believe Eastwood is still around. Good series, a mite expensive, but still worth the cost. I recommend it to anyone who likes westerns, or old movies.

WORTH IT?....
You can watch these online if you want, but the DVD set is so much easier. I am 5 episodes into the 4th season...never saw the original shows. As a 29 year old guy, I like this series, and I am a fan of black and white TV Shows and movies from silent films up to the early 1960s.I bought direct from Amazon.com specifically. I have been ripped off on Ebay too much, and wanted genuine DVDs, it hass been almost two months now. These are almost 55 minutes basically. I cannot find an episode I do not like, although, the episodes about love are...not so fun in season 3, but there are enough side stories to enjoy them. I find that my parents, uncles and aunts, and granparents and children can watch these as they pop in and out of the kitchen or if I have the laptop on in the bedroom. It is cool.I know everyone states, "the morals", but...that is too cliche...it really is about "truth", now, I get when people counter that and look at it as some "moral crusade", but, I have no political affiliation, I do not even vote...except with my wallet, and to see...4 generations of family...who are...well, affiliated from anywhere from extreme liberals to extreme conservative, to see them, enjoy the shows...taking a step back from their own personal affiliations, and just enjoying a few monets of the episode and walking away happy...it is worth the $105 bucks, yes, of course it is, and no exclamation needed their. To each his own, you know, my friends joke how it is stupid, cool, funny, laughable, and clever, or just seems so simple compared to anything now...Hey, it is recommeded by me to anyone who likes westerns, hour long Black and white shows, and any of the stars that cameo here or star in it.Another series that is shorter, meaning 30 minutes, you might like:Have Gun Will Travel (although the way they potray, "boy" the amazing Chinese staff at hotel, is not very PC, yet..I get called boy by my great grandfather all the time, so, to think is it racist..it is just the way old-timers refer to close younger friends, at least up here in the North USA still.)Wells Fargo, another 30 minute western showIf you want to get silly, F-Troop is like the Adams Family of Westerns, haha.To classify it as a western...it not exactly accurate...there are bits of Sci-fi, Romance, Comedy, Drama, Humanity, etc. I can completely see how the Native Americans potrayel is layed out in a way that can offend, and I do not think that is Great. But, even guys my age, who are from the west coast, get a laugh at it, being native Americans, while my friends here on the East coast USA, who are full blooded Native American think it is lame. My family is mixed, and nobody takes offense. Those where different times, and our family was part of this country hundreds of years having houses torched just for mixing hundreds of years ago, that was downright extremist and deadly.Again, I am not affiliated with any party, and as opened minded to both sides, everyone can co-exist how they want in 2020 now. I just feel I need to stick up for the constant cliche labeling that really has nothing unique to offer.COMPLETELY worth the time spent watching these with all my family and friends, and by myself. I know I can just watch online, but the DVDs are of excellent clear quality and audio. Whether on an LG external DVD player, or any of the Sony players my family has bought on Amazon, sold from Amazon.com.I do not analyze entertainment so closely, and I just think that if you liked these years back, or just want well made DVDs for basically a dollar or two a disk...you cannot go wrong. If you are on a budget that cannot afford these, check out any of the Amazon Prime TV shows of a similar era.Anyway, I just have seen people sort of step back from modern times, and get things out of an episode and leave smiling, or in a better mood compared to watching TV shows, Youtube, Current News channels, Instagram, etc. Just the human value of basically handwritten stories, or typerwriter scripts, in early TV times, is very fun to see and think about. Transitioning from radio acting to Tv acting, it is era appropriate, and I know it can be analyzed in negative ways, I am not that stupid, but I am long winded, and not a scholar of TV broadcasting.Thank you Amazon.com, I appreciate you offering DVDs still.Happy Holidays! 20-20!

Great series, great DVDs--everything I was hoping it would be.
Great series, DVDs, and packaging. A real classic, with intelligent, insightful, meaningful episodes and actors. This series had character, which is completely lacking in most TV shows today. The only drawback at all was that there are no subtitles, but this is an old TV series, and I don't think they had them back then.

Round "em up!
I cannot believe that I did not enjoy this more as a kid. I liked it even then but love it now. The first couple of disks have some very interesting info on the players. After season one the info ends but it was very interesting. I love traveling back to a time where morality and stories with a positive message. Somehow it still dealt with interesting stories which challenge our thoughts. The boxed set is one of the best I have in my collection. Easy out for the disks. Great stories and pretty interesting.Great for kids and young adults. Old folks like me too. Great buy.

5star show in a 4star set
This dvd box set is “so far, so good”. The first clamshell box with seasons 1-4 has a broken hinge on one of the disc-holding “pages” (for lack of a better term). I’m not too worried about the scratched discs being unwatchable. I’ve got some that look worse and still play fine. I’m just getting to the middle of season 1 so far and everything is going fine. The packaging is a little bit tight, but it’ll do.One good piece of luck is that my LG Blu-Ray player can create its own captioning. The set doesn’t mention closed captioning on the box, but I still have that ability with my player. I read in some reviews about it not being captioned. I gambled my player could do it anyway, and won the gamble.I counted all the discs and they’re here. The labels (season/disc numbers) are hard to find and read on the discs. So, I used a sharpie and labeled each one simply and with larger letters and numbers. This writing can be cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol if need be. I really doubt any need to return the set. A few scratches on some discs should not keep them from playing. The episodes in this set are five minutes longer than what’s being rerun on tv networks nowadays, (after cutting out the modern commercials that is). I think this set is worth the money to get a classic show and see it as it was first seen on tv. I’m working on a library of the classic tv shows I grew up watching. From the daily reruns of 1950s and 1960s shows to the stuff I watched weekly during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. There haven’t been many new shows worth watching since the 90s anyway.

Excellent Old Time Western Series
I remember bits and pieces of this TV series but being able to watch the entire series was terrific. The storylines were excellent and all 8 seasons were great. The characters were great especially Gil Faver, Rowdy and Wishbone and all of the secondary characters were very good. Highly recommend this TV Western Series especially for those who love the Old Westerns. Great writing also.
