Comfortable and Smoothing
Years ago, I swore I would never again wear an uncomfortable body shaper. But when I tried on a dress in my closet that I wanted to wear to a dinner next week, and saw panty lines, pulling and a stomach bulge, I knew I had 3 choices: lose enough weight in one week (LOL!), find a new dress, or order some shapewear. I remembered that the NY Times' Wirecutter had done a shapewear review so I found that article and decided to order the Shapermint high-waisted shaper. I ordered two sizes because I'm always surprised to find that I'm larger than I think I am, but thankfully I never even opened the larger one. I'm 5'2" and 165 lbs and the M-L fit well. I took before and after pictures, but truthfully, it was hard to see any difference in the pictures so I haven't included them with this review. BUT the important thing is that I could see a difference in the mirror and the Shapermint will allow me to feel confident while wearing the dress. Does it give me my old figure back? No, but it does smooth me out with the top of the shaper coming up to my bra line and there is no thigh bulge where the shaper ends. All this while being surprisingly comfortable! And the price is very reasonable.

Fit well and was comfortable for hours
Fit well, held well, was comfortable for hours. It smoothed and condensed but didn’t make me feel squished in like a sausage. I was able to eat a hearty dinner after three hours of being in it and still felt fine through late into the night. Also very moveable. It wasn’t stiff at all. It has rubber (I believe that is the material) at the top and short stiff bands (similar the wire of a bra) at the top for about three inches. Not uncomfortable at all and did not poke me once. I was pleasantly surprised since I do not like wire bras for that exact reason. It did not fall or slip at all for the over six hours I wore it. I recommend!

It's a 4.5
Ladies, I have tried and returned the Spanx brand at least 6 times over the years, these happened to be on sale and I read some reviews, I thought OK, 1 last time. I ordered my size, 2xl and they actually fit, the support is light to medium, no noise when you walk and there is some light boning in the front the garment. You don't have to wrestle to get them on. The only drawback is that they do not come up as high on me as I would like, so not to my bra, but I have a long torso and a large bubble pear buttock. Overall, a win for me because they are comfortable and wearable in the summer.

Possible Merchant Error
Lots of the reviews described the product being too big when ordering the size according to the chart. The shorts fit, but they didn't really provide the support expected. On the advice of a few, I purchased a size xs/s instead of m/l like I normally do.When I looked at the shorts, I thought there was no way that I was going to be able to fit my skinny-squishy 165lb body in those itty-bitty things. But I did. And without much effort at all. They're tight, but they're not snatching my waist like they're supposed to. Everything is smoothed out. No bulges. And I can breathe, but it didn't shape my stomach. My stomach is still pooching out like it did before. There's just smooth flub-blub now instead of multiple flub-blubs and no muffin top (which is nice).I sat down on the bed to see if it was possible to still breathe (it was) and I looked at the package. On the back of the package it says "Plus-size black small" and it now makes sense why I am able to wear it.I'm 5'11. 165lbs. All of my weight is in my stomach, hips, and thighs. I wear a size 10-12 in jeans.Plus-sized clothing is made specifically to accommodate a body type that is beautifully voluptuous. Plus-sized clothing is labeled "16W" or "16 curvy" fur example. The W or curvy indicating that it will fit a fuller figured individual. I know there's not a small in plus-size, but I think I've figured it out nonetheless:I have a friend that wears a size 14 curvy which is another way to tell the shopper that this product is constructed differently from a size 14 regular. The curvy or the W are constructed in a way that allows a fuller figure to settle comfortably unlike the regular that would be far too tight and constricting in the waiste, knees, and calves. Anyway...I checked on Amazon and found a plus-size Shapermint, high waisted shaper shorts that can be purchased in size S-3xl. These shorts are made like the curvy or W to accommodate curves that a woman who wore a regular small would not have. I believe the seller may have accidentally shipped a plus-sized garment when the purchaser wanted a regular rather than plus. And I think that this is why some buyers are talking about sizing down while others are describing being swallowed by a boa constrictor and not being able to breathe, or move, or sit.Maybe if I had a regular small then I'd be complaining about that, too because, trust me, I may be skinny-squishy but I haven't been able to fit into a small anything since 9th grade. And that was 32 years ago. 🤷♀️

Best shapewear!
Awesome shapewear! Got the M/L, tried it on and decided I wanted a little more compression so I ordered the S. Came just in time, fit great, did the job, and was comfortable! There was a woman in the bathroom that had just taken hers off because it kept rolling down so I told her about this one. It stayed put all day and even throughout dancing! 5'5½" 157 lbs. Love it!

Buy a size down from what you would think, also very comfortable
Before I bought this, I spent hours looking at shapers. It was to wear under a dress for my son's wedding. I looked at some that cost more than the dress that zipped, and some that had hook and eyes etc. I gave lots of thought before settling on this one.I've also lost about 70 lbs in the last year and have a lot of excess skin to wrangle. I'm about 5'2, weigh around 217 and chose a 3x according to the chart.I've worn shapers before of all types and this is the most comfortable I've worn. I had it on about 12 hours through the wedding, pictures, reception etc.I kept the 3x for "daily" use, but I'd suggest for something special, get a size smaller. Both would have worked but the size smaller truly pulled it in. Also, the price for what I received was extraordinary.

Stops the jiggles
I'm 5'4" and 240. I'm kinda roundy with a chunky caboose, thighs, and tummy. I bought these to reduce my jiggle when wearing some thin, nylon UPF 50+ pants. I am happy to say, no jiggles when wearing these! My first ever shapewear and am super happy with them! All day comfort and performance. These have increased my confidence.
