A Must Have Item
If your 600 Series faucet bonnet won't come off you will need this part. I had to replace the rubber rings and the only way to remove the ball was cut it off. This fits perfectly. Glad I this on hand when I repaired my faucet. This doesn't come with the adjusting ring so make sure you order one of those too.

Turns out I needed it after all ...
I ordered this anticipating that I would need to cut off (i.e. destroy) the existing Bonnet Nut on my Delta Series 600 shower valve to remove it without twisting (terminally damaging) the valve. But I got lucky: my existing Bonnet Nut was, with sufficient penetrating lube (applied over weeks), removable by hand. But the existing Bonnet Nut itself contained a retaining nut which needed to be removed to install the upgraded Delta RP77739A kit, but my retaining nut was unremovably bonded to the Bonnet Nut by decades of hard water deposits. So I needed this new nut after all, and it worked fine. Don't forget to grease up the threads before hand tightening (only!) this nut!

Get one BEFORE you work on your faucet
1. I have a lot of these Delta kitchen faucets. They are their older "stainless steel ball inside" faucets, but they are still made by Delta. (Their newer "ceramic cartridge inside" faucets are called DST - Diamond Seal Technology - and require a different bonnet).2. As someone already pointed out, RP1050 is just the bonnet, while RP50 is an assembly consisting of the bonnet and adjusting ring. This ring is only used for older-style cams. A cam is a plastic cap with a rubberized bottom that sits on top of the stainless steel ball. It holds the ball in place and prevents the water from leaking from the top of the faucet. If your cam is white, it is the older style. Consider changing to Delta RP61 cam (dark grey): it does not need the adjusting ring and is thus easier to install.3. I'd say that if you went so far as to remove the bonnet from the faucet, change all the rubber parts inside it. They include the cam (RP61), the seats (RP4993), and possibly the spout o-rings (RP25). This should give you a few years of trouble-free operation. I have all these parts as spare before I even approach these faucets.4. There is a plastic tool - RP20587 - that some people use to remove bonnets. This tool only works with older-style bonnets with knurls along the bottom edge. It will be useless with newer style bonnets, as they have no knurls, but rather have a provision for grabbing the top of the bonnet with an adjustable wrench. You may also use a strap wrench. If all fails and you have a replacement bonnet, grabbing the old bonnet with channellocks and throwing it away afterward is a viable solution. Be careful, though. While it did not happen to me, it appears that you can twist the entire faucet in place, destroying the copper tubes underneath. This is rare, but If the bonnet is stuck that badly, you may need to cut it with dremel very carefully, making sure not to damage the rest of the faucet.5. There is a review that urges not to buy Delta faucets, and buy a no-name brand instead. This is a dumb idea. No-name brands often come with bad metal, bad rubber, and unobtainable parts. In contrast, Delta makes reasonable quality faucets and it is the easiest to find the parts for out of all brand names.

Easy on-off cap for Delta faucets.
If you mess up your old one because it is seized on, here is a new one. Install with some plumbing grease on threads for future removal.

Picture shows adjusting ring included
A reviewer from over a year ago made the observation that one of the pictures show this dome cap with the RP250 adjusting ring which leads you to believe it is included. It is not. Over a year later and the issue isn't fixed. Be aware that this part does NOT include the adjusting ring and if you need that you will have to order an RP250 as well. Another option would be to order RP50 which is the dome cap AND the adjusting nut.

Fits “86” year delta single handle bathroom sink faucet
I like the wrench hex for removal. Worked great for my 86 single handle bathroom sink delta faucet. Had to cut and chisel out the old one without the hex wrench flats!!
