Great Quality Oil
I've been using this oil for several months now and I'm pretty much set in using it from now on. I don't like to use moisturizers and I like to know exactly what I'm putting on my face. I take a few drops of Evening Primrose Oil, mix a drop of an essential oil in it (I like to use Clary Sage to prevent breakouts or Ylang Ylang), and dilute with some cold water and rub really well into my skin once a day after a thorough cleanse and that's all I do for my daily skincare (no toner, no other oils or moisturizers, no masks). I use a weekly peel (Erno Lazslo) and a gentle cleanser (Sibu) and this oil and my skin has never been so clear and comfortable. I think this oil (paired with the essential oil) helps balance my hormones which has helped greatly in reducing hormonal acne, so if you're looking to clean up and simplify your skincare regimen, I'd recommend giving this a try. I'm not saying this is a holy grail product (there's no such thing), but it's a big part of the whole. Plus, there's no need for a makeup primer because your makeup will stick to this just fine. I used to use Hourglass's Immaculate, but now all I need is MAC's powder foundation, if I wear makeup at all. I like to know all of the products other people are using to get their results, so I hope this helps.

Lovely oil
I use this and coconut oil in my hair and it feels wonderful, great texture and weight for oil. Seems very good quality and has shown great performance for me. The shine and relief it gives my hair is so nice.

Wonderful under face moisturizer
Applying it on clean damp face and neck softens skin and wrinkles. Only a couple of drops, massage it in well. Transforms the look of my dry crackly skin into a soft suptle glow. I have been using Primrose oil for years. I rarely use foundation anymore at 75 and people think im in my early 60’s. I find that as a base application under a thin moisturizer, the foundation doesn't cake up. I have a healthy glow.

Wonderful product! I am using it for hair loss and it is helping!
I'm a 32 year old man, and since I was 17 I have been witnessing my hairline recede more and more. On my 32nd birthday I decided to do something about it. After researching various herbs, supplements, and essential oils, I came across information on evening primrose oil. These are some facts I've collected:- Evening primrose oil contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid in the omega-6 family of oils that is metabolized to dihomogammalinolenic acid (DGLA). These fatty acids are precursors to prostaglandins series 1 and 2 (PGE1 and PGE2).- Evening primrose oil contains about 4 to 16 % GLA- Evening primrose oil also has a high concentration of linoleic acid.- GLA is a DHT blocker.- DHT means dihydrotestosterone, which is testosterone that has been converted into a form 10X it's original strength. DHT is produced in hair follicles in both men and women, and is responsible for the miniaturization of terminal hairs on the head as well as the thickening of hairs on other areas of the bottle. This means that evening primrose oil, since it has such a high concentration of GLA, helps block DHT. Thus it can help lessen hair loss, stop hair loss altogether, or, BETTER YET, help hairs grow thicker of aid in re growing hair on bald scalp.- Study proving that it does block DHT:[...]- GLA also supresses inflammation COX-2, LOX (PGD2?) and increases PGE1(good thing, another study)[...]- Treatment of male pattern baldness and of unwanted hair growth.http://www.freepatentsonline.com/EP0309086.htmlIn a test of the effectiveness of the invention, four middle-aged males with rapidly progressing baldness were treated orally with either 6g of evening primrose oil or 6g of a mixture of evening primrose oil and concentrated fish oil (20% per day. The primrose oil provided approximately 90mg of 18:3n-6 (gamma-linolenic acid, GLA) per gram and the fish oil 180mg of 20:5n-3 (eicosapentaenoic acid, EPA) and 120mg of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) per gram. After delays of 4 to 8 weeks, all four individuals reported unequivocal hair growth, with extension of hair growth to previously bald areas of the scalp, and a strengthening of growth in those areas where hair was present but thinning. Topical application of the unsaturated fatty acids provides better results by increasing the concentration of the fatty acid at the hair follicle level. In further tests, one male applied pure evening primrose oil twice per day to half the beard area. After about two weeks, the rate of beard growth on the side of the face to which the oil had been applied was definitely less than on the other side. Similarly, one female shaved both legs and then applied evening primrose oil twice daily to one leg only. After a period of 6-8 weeks it could be seen that the rate of hair growth was substantially less on the leg to which the oil had been applied. These preliminary tests indicate that both oral and topical application of unsaturated fatty acids is able to modulate the actions of androgens on the hair follicles, stimulating hair growth on the scalp and reducing it on other areas of the body. So! With all this information in hand, I added evening primrose to my cart here along with several other clinically proven DHT blockers... I've about a month of daily use, I have several new hairs sprouting back on the bald areas above my temples! This is indeed promising, and I am VERY excited to see how my hair continues to grow over the next few months! This brand of evening primrose oil by Maple Holistics is probably the finest brand for sale here on Amazon... It is not a thick oil at all, so it spreads on easily and isn't sticky in my hair. It has a light scent. Not very floral, more of a grassy scent, IMHO. But this doesn't bother me. I am not looking for a fragrance. I am using it for its medicinal value. It's a great product. If I continue to grow more hair or at least stabilize my hair loss, I will continue to purchase this oil over and over.

First of all Maple Holistics has great customer service
First of all Maple Holistics has great customer service. I wish they sold more difference kinds of oils because I would be happy to buy from them again. There was a freshness problem with my first bottle and they responded and sent another very fast and hassle free. It's also a good sign for a product like this when the bottle is not clear. With that being said, this oil just hasn't personally worked for me. I have oily and acne prone skin on my face and I haven't noticed any lessening of either issue since using this daily. And it smells gross. I mean if you do your research you're prepared for it, but it still smells gross. And it looks like urine. I will try using it on the KP on my arms.
