Inner gasket out of place.
Spent waay too much time trying to seat the rubber gasket down inside the filter. The factory filter has the gasket bonded in place, this generic replacement has the gasket simply friction fit, so if you remove the filter after fitting it once, to check or whatever, the gasket pulls up off the center tube and lays loosely in the gap. If you then replace the filter without reseating the gasket properly, it fails to seal, allowing fuel to bypass the filter element.Make sure your inner gasket is properly seated inside the filter before putting it in place, otherwise you risk fuel contamination.
