Great rocking chair that everyone will want to use
We did not have a clue as to what to get my father for his 70th birthday. We came across this rocking chair and knew he would love it. As soon as he saw it he was in absolute love with it. He quickly sat down on it, started rocking and said that he was putting it up at the family cabin. Couple of weeks later we had a huge family get together and everyone was trying to get their chance to sit on the new rocking chair out on the deck.Pros: * Price: How can you beat a beautiful cedar log rocking chair with free shipping for under 125 bucks? * Aesthetics: Looks absolutely wonderful. The cedar had beautiful knots and splits that really added to its character. My father * Construction: Very well built and designed piece of furniture. I am over 6'6" 300+lbs and it held me with out any issues. * Comfort: The seat is curved perfectly to make sure your back and legs are comfortableCons: * Assembly: While not difficult to put together, I can see how some people may have some minor issues during assembly. I would have liked to seen slightly better instructions with clearly marked designations on the actual individual parts and instructions. The last step of putting the rockers on can be a bit tricky if not done correctly. You simply have to eye it up as best you can when attaching them. You could assemble this alone but I would suggest having someone to help. Conclusion:Love everything about this rocking chair except for the assembly. The assembly however will not stop me from buying a few more to put up at the cabin so that we do not have any more fights!

Excellent product!
Love Lakeland Mills! I bought their small table for my porch to see what the quality & how "hard" this stuff would be to put together. More than satisfied, I purchased this rocking chair as a gift for my mom.It was very easy to put together. I did pre-drill holes rather than fighting the screws, made life much easier. There are some hex head screws as well, so if your not building this at home (I was 150 mi away from my toolbox), you may want to grab the hardware package to be user you've got all the right tools. Off the top of my head I believe I did this with a deadblow hammer, DeWalt drill, 1/8" bit, Phillips head bit, and a ratchet with a 12mm socket. (Sizes may be wrong, My memory sucks sometimes)I'm 5'6", my mom is 5'2". We both felt the chair was a comfortable size - not too narrow, not too high or too low (she doesn't like the adirondack style chairs). The rocking motion was smooth the slats for the back & seat were pre-constructed, smooth & had a comfortable contour to them. The arm rests weren't sanded smooth but there was no worry of splinters. All in all, Mom is happy. I bought this to replace an uncomfortable looking little iron chair she uses in her back patio when she goes out to smoke, but she insisted on keeping the chair inside until it warms up so she could enjoy it while she reads.

Beautiful Rocking Chairs, extremely sturdy
5 star product. Excellent natural hard wood, will look great in my cabin. Fairly easy to build, says can be done without tools, but save yourself hours of frustration and get yourself a good impact driver. They include basic hardware, but if you really want to build this stable and secure, I used 3.5in deck screws, drilled parallel into each dow joint. Wood is very dry which is great, will absorb and hold whatever stain you want to use.Only issue was the assembly of the rockers, holes are not pre-drilled to align, so I suggest putting it on blocks attaching one side and then align the other to create a smooth rock.

Nice, sturdy, good value
I ordered two of these, and I really like them, the only drawback is that you will have to use some sandpaper on some of the surfaces to stop the splinters. I especially like the curved seat and they give a lot of support so great for back pain sufferers. Assembling them requires a power screwdriver (I used an impact driver) and a little patience. Once you do one of them the are all the same. I bought these and the 4' loveseat and an end table. All are good quality and very sturdy! They do sit low though, so it might be an issue with some buyers.*UPDATE* I also purchased the 5' porch swing and assembled it last night. Its a bit more difficult than the chairs or the loveseat, but similar in nature. That piece is very nice, and oversized so it feels a little like a giants chair on the porch, but the style is awesome and just what I was wanting for the yard. :)

Sturdy Good Rockers - Difficult Assembly
These rockers are nice and sturdy. They arrive bare cedar and require a substantial amount of work to assemble. All but two of the holes have to be drilled before the screws can be placed. The hardware was quality and much appreciated. Make sure to follow the directions about not installing screws until you mallet together the pieces. The arms were very hard to align in order to get the super long screws to line up. Expect to swing the dead blow mallet with all your strength to bang the pieces together. My neighbors probably though I was demolishing my garage with all the racket. After I assembled the rockers, I sealed the wood and applied a clear matte topcoat. I am pleased overall. I will enjoy these chairs for years to come. Very comfortable! They rock nicely.

Rocker or not
Upon assembling this chair I realized it was both the original chair with rockers attached. Since we are using it inside till warmer weather sends it to the porch we have been using it as a chair in the home cave room (family room nobody sees but us). Solid built and easy to assemble. Tried the rockers and cannot wait to use them outside. Might have to get another when time comes since it is the most claimed chair in the room.Assembly was quite easy and I forgot to bring a mallet home from work. No problem folks just use the side of your wooden meat tenderizer and a hammer if you don't have scrap wood laying around the place. Pieces assemble easily with a light tap. I used it a few days without the screws so everything settled into place and leveled out. Once I screwed it down it is solid as a rock.Oh and it looks great.
