Works well, superb traction, holds well on hills, still doesn't tear up the grass
These are great and worked better than I had hoped for!. My zero-turn mower came with the 'turf saver' type tires, but it was a golf course queen for flat, even, dry areas only and would slide on the slightest grade. It was frustrating trying to maintain 10 acres of grass on my farm this way. When one of my old tires got a hole in the sidewall, I decided to replace both of them and bought these as the replacement. At first I was worried about the lugs tearing up my grass and not knowing how much or even if they would improve traction on hills, so I hesitated to switch to such an aggressive tire. After the swap, I am amazed at the traction and much happier with my mower now. I can make harder movements now, I can cut along hills and ditches where the mower used to slide all over the place, and I don't lose traction in the mud or wet grass any more. I even went into some pretty deep and soggy mud, but these handled it like it was dry ground. And, these tires have been no more prone to tearing up my grass than the old turf-saver tires. When these do dig in, it doesn't leave a rut and instead just pop up a narrow plug of grass that falls right back in the hole, and the end result is actually less impact on the grass. I wish I had changed out my tires to these years ago.

Great Tire!!!!!!!
After I received these tires, mounted them and then installed them,of course I had to try them out to see what all they would do. These tires surprised me,a whole lot!!!!!!!! These tires SURPASS!!!!! the normal tires that come on a zero turn mower(lawn tread). I was able to mow in places with these tires that the lawn tires that where on this mower, got me STUCK or just spun, even with the grass being dry. I don't know why I didn't go to this type of a tire a long time ago!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a small hill in front of my house that is roughly 500 ft long, that I mow,and with my lawn tires I would start up it and then the tires would spin when I reached a certain point on it,and I would have to come back down to level ground, and then I would end up weed eating this area, but NOT!!!! with these tires on my mower now,now when I start mowing on this hill and start going upgrade these tires get me to the top of this hill(no spinning either) and I just keep on trucking then. I think anyone would like to have this kind of tire,I glad I did finally, and buying them through Amazon gave me the best deal I could find anywhere!!!!!! 1 drawback is that you need to be careful when you are turning around, like some of the comments that I have seen and read about ,that talk about this also, but in my opinion that is a very small price to pay when these give you GREAT TRACTION IN YOUR MOWING!!!!!!!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND A TIRE LIKE THIS TO EVERYONE AND ANYONE THAT WANTS TRACTION WHEN THEIR MOWING,INSTEAD OF JUST GETTING STUCK AND JUST SPINNING YOUR WHEELS ALL FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!

These tires are the same manufacturer and style tire as original Troy Built rear tine tiller.
These tires are the same manufacturer and exactly the same as the original tires on my Troy Built rear tine tiller. Mine were 20 years old and rotted and these are exact replacements. As has been mentioned, they are hard to change. They come tightly strapped together to save room for shipping and when you cut them loose they don't change much. I cut 8 pieces of 1" PVC pipe to put between the beads of the tires to spread them out and let them set for a few days until I got around to installation. I mounted these tubeless as original and this helped dramatically as far as getting them to take air. It is still tough to get the old ones off, and tougher to get the new ones on. The smaller the tire/rim the harder to change... I found getting the old stiff ones off to be easier while the rims were still mounted to the tiller. It turned out to be easier to mount the more pliable new ones on the bench. A little soap can be helpful but is a double edged sword as it gets all over the place if you use to much to soon. I sprayed the bead of the tire with silicone spray instead and it seemed to work better for me.The bottom line is good replacement tires for a good price.

Worked out so well we put them on our mower at church too!
Wish I had bought these years ago. They're perfect. If your like me your probably looking for a tire that'll not tare up your yard and pull up hills when needed. Well this is it. I have a husky z254 and I live in sw Virginia in the mountains. My property has hills, creeks, muddy spots, slopes, and all kinds of obstacles. Those stupid turf savers where destroying my lawn and almost sent me over a 10' retaining wall several time. And if the grass was the least bit damp, forget it. Slicker than snot on door knob and leave you nerves like a whore in church! These tires fixed about 90% of that. They grab the ground and as long as you drive with some sense you'll not have a problem with them. Now if you get into mud or real soft ground they will dig in and if they let go, it does look like a doser or some ferel pigs passed through. So I wouldn't advise getting on hills or slopes if the ground is soft. Pretty much does the same damage that a four wheeler would. I put them on the wheels my self, and it is kind of pain. If you've never done it, I wouldn't advise it. Just take them to somebody with a tire mounting machine and give up the 10 bucks. I'm a cheap skate! Overall A+
