The Greek Myths. Volume One & Two.

This set of books on Greek mythology by Robert Graves are well known and are well respected. They were received in excellent condition. The book set is presented artfully and is very attractive. Makes a great gift as well.

Books were in fantastic condition and did just what she wanted. Occupy a pride of place on her shelf.

I had previously read Graves' Greek Myths, but was recently interested in getting a nicer copy of this work. The Folio Society edition of this book looks fantastic on my bookshelf, even used and over 20 years old the binding and paper were in great condition and I expect this will last a long time. The printing, and illustrations contained within are also topnotch.

Robert Graves provbides a definitive telling of the Greek Myths, far better than Hamilton, but this edition laks the key element-- his detailed notes, numbered and set off, on alternative versions, local history, parallel legends, differences in the gods' worship between locations, and more--for most of the gods and heroes. Without that it's a brilliant . . . half-a-book.
