It isn't perfect but it's a big help.
I have a love/hate relationship with poached eggs. No matter what I do, they look fairly awful and are difficult to handle. It is one of those things that I, a very competent cook otherwise, have trouble with. This little gadget (combined with the cups its supposed to hold) make things a little bit easier and the eggs a little bit less ugly and more compact. I just put eggs inside the cups, put the cups in simmering water, and spoon the water over the eggs. When they are ready, I slip this thingy in there and position the cups so I can pull them out without incident. (I had tried it before without this thingy and it was a lot more awkward. So far, so good. I think I'll keep it.

it works fine but you don't really need it
I was sure I was going to need this to get those poachers out of boiling water but it turns out they are easy to remove and I would have been better off to spend my money on more poach cups. I love the cups. I rub a little butter on them then crack an egg in, then set them in the very hot water, cover and cook 4-6 minutes depending on how hard you like your eggs. I was never a fan of poached eggs because they were too watery but with this method they aren't WET at all and very pretty on a muffin. I haven't tried making little custards in them but it mentioned that on the literature. I might give that a try next. It would be very easy to do and perfect for a small dessert. I see I got distracted. I recommend the poachers for sure and the lifter only if you are afraid you won't be able to lift the poachers out by the edges. It works great though.

It Works - Excellent product
I bought this in conjunction with a set of silicone poachers. It makes handling the poacher cups a lot easier, especially when the time comes to remove them from boiling water. This gadget keeps your fingers well away from the hot water. I tend not to have the cups float freely as they may topple over if the boiling water bubbles too much. I found my own technique to fill my pan up to a certain level which keeps the cups just about touching the surface of the pan. This makes it a little hard to slide the fork of the lifter under the cup. I cut almost an inch of the fork ends. This makes this task a finger snap. Well, that's me. It works for me. I am certain that will develop your own personal method to deal with these issues. Some patience and practice will make you a master. The product is well made and does the job. It is a must have if you use silicone poaching cups.

I'm now enjoying lots of poaches eggs and love the pods
My mother enjoys poached eggs so I bought her the poach pods and lifter for Christmas. After using them at her house, I became a big fan and bought a set for myself. I find the pod much easier than soft-boiled eggs in the shell because I can observe just how soft I want them and pluck them out of the water at just the right time. I'm now enjoying lots of poaches eggs and love the pods! I find that the lifter, while it is clever, unnecessary. I just pick the pods out of the water by the corners and then use a spoon to slide the eggs out of the pod. The lifter is just taking up space in my kitchen drawer. It's a fine product, I just find it unnecessary in my kitchen.

Great Egg Pod Companion
Nifty little gadget to use with the Fusion Pochpod. Lifts the pod up easily so now I don't have to use my fingers or a fork any longer. I will say though, this is just a thin piece of plastic. Probably a gadget I could live without as it does take space in my kitchen drawer.

It is sturdy plastic, easy to clean
This was bought with a set of silicone poach egg cups. It is sturdy plastic, easy to clean, and just the right size to scoop up the cups from the simmering water so that no one gets burned. Only thing I find negative is that when cooking in a small pot, the lifter is a bit too large and can't quite do its job. The cup can tip over while you are trying to capture it in a small space.

Saves the Fingers
I ordered the lifter a few weeks after getting the poachpods and burning my fingers trying to get them out of the water. Unfortunately, I have found the lifter not as easy to use as I thought it would be. When I lift the pods up I still have to grab the edge to prevent them from turning to one side and the egg slipping out. It is still a lot better on my fingers though.

Needed a slight modification, then very good.
Necessary for use with silicone poaching cups. I nipped a bit off the tips, to make lifting the cups up easier. Otherwise you need a greater depth of water in your pan. You are warned not to leave the lifter in boiling water, which suggests the plastic is not as heat proof as maybe it should be.

Egg poacher pod lifter
Although the lifter helps remove the poachers safely, you need a very wide pot to manage to get it in between the pods without tipping them over if you have 4 in the same pot. it is also impossible to get the lifter underneath the pod with the raw egg in it to place in the pot without lifting the pod off the counter, making it possible to tip over and loose the egg. Could have used a wider opening at the front to get under them easier. But even with the bad points it is worth the risk reduction of scalding when removing from the pot.

Great little tool for your poach pods.
This item does a brilliant job. Especially with removing the egg from the poach pod. I am just in a decluttering frame of mind at the moment, so I am a) wondering why I bought it and b) not really sure that it does need a stand alone tool.I am however, using it when I use the poachpods and it does do a great job of ensuring you do not hurt yourself. Given my hubby's track record for burning himself when in the kitchen, it is probably a great price for the precaution!

Poach Pods Best Mate
I loved the poach pods up they were a faff to remove from the pan, let's be honest who wants to stick their hands that close to a pan of boiling water? The poach pod lifter is the genius addition to the poach pods, if you are of a somewhat clumsy sort or don't like the idea of dropping your uncooked eggs in their poach pod's into the water you can use the lifter to slide them in the pan as well. (I've fouund if you want to put the uncooked egg filled poach pod INTO the water then make sure you have enough water in the pan or it gets very fiddly. The poach pods are in and of themselves a stunningly brilliant invention combined with the lifter they have a good chance of becoming one of my favourite kitchen gadgets... No I'm off to have some gloriously poached eggs, couple of slices of bacon on toast as a late supper...

OK!!!!
Quite a nice piece of kit, does the job but the quality isn’t brilliant quite sharp around the edges. I had to file it before I could use it.Could be a lot cheaper!

Next time with oiled pods was much better. eggs were excellent
I seldom poach eggs and I forgot to oil the pods on my first attempt. Naturally the eggs stuck to the pods. Next time with oiled pods was much better. eggs were excellent. I find that care is needed in last minute or two of cooking to avoid overdoing. Also, a low wall pot is best since it makes inserting and removing pods so much easier
