Fifty Favorite Birds Coloring Book (Dover Animal Coloring Books)

Great coloring book that is pretty detailed. We used for school and enjoyed all the photos in here

I was so excited to see these pictures I opened the box and flipped through every page. These are the thoughts I had while thumbing through the book:A.) The pictures are very nice. All very well-drawn with pretty backgrounds and skill-fully depicted birds.B.) There is a fold-out page showing each picture already completed to give the artist an idea of the bird species.C.) Each page provides the area each bird can be found in and what time of the year. Good information to have.D.) My complaint? The artist has added areas of the birds that contain black! This truly irritates me as I have paid my hard-earned money for pictures that have been partially filled in!!I have made a note of the artist and will not purchase another book done by her. For any interested, her name is Lisa Bonaforte.

My local Amish school teacher requested another "Bird Book" for her newest student as they use this book from grade to grade and when the student graduates, the book goes with them. They previously had zeroed copies of birds that went from generation to generation. Finally, last year they asked if there was such a book for sale. (the zeroed copies were harder and harder to make clean). I went to Amazon and found several different kinds of "bird books" and ordered one of each. Upon examination, they chose this book to use. I am grateful to be able to fulfill their needs through Amazon.

4.5 Stars.I have several Dover coloring books that I have purchased for myself and my small granddaughters. All that I own thus far have nice pictures, printed on decent quality paper. However, don't use markers unless you are willing to sacrifice the picture on the opposite side. That would be my only complaint. I usually use colored pencils so this is not a deal breaker for me. I do sometimes like to use markers but for the price Dover coloring books are way worth the inconvenience of only being able to use dry color.I like that this particular book has colored pictures of each page so that you can see what each bird looks like. I am also impressed that they give a short description of each bird.

So relaxing I like to draw my own picture sometimes but these bird pictures were so much fun to color I use mostly the Bic set of 36 pens to color these the Bic pens do bleed through so you will lose the picture on the reverse side so I chose my favorites to color. Also I will be able to use these drawing later to create some of my own drawing using these for reference and this helped me to learn how to blend my colors and strokes. I have included some photos for you to see. I put some of my finished drawing on my kitchen cupboard doors for some temporary decoration. The only downside is the colored pictures are so small that detail is not there, so you have to use your imagination, not really a down side:)

50 Favorite Birds. Not only are there loads of color imagies to use for coloring them, they have their information under them too. Not only the common and scientific names but also where they are found.It's a wonderful book to use for learning, teaching and coloring.I must sound like a broken record but make sure to have something under your picture if it isn't removable so you won't leave imprints on the picture under it or color markings from the one already done. You don't want anything to mess up your hard work on these wonderful pictures.

This is a beautiful coloring book for adults or children with color photos in the front. My children and I are using it along side reading Thornton Burgess’ Bird book. We love finding the bird that Peter Rabbit meets in the chapters and coloring along!

I bought this for my 81 years old play sister as a birthday gift. She loves birds. I just know she is going to love this when it arrives in her mailbox this coming Saturday. Thank you so much for a really nice adult coloring book of birds. Particularly, how each state is represented. Love it!

If you are a keen embroiderer or like to reproduce artwork from outlines then this range of books is perfect. They can easily be enlarged.I particularly like these birds and am looking forward to embroidering pictures using these images.And I might just amuse myself colouring some in, too!

Oh this book is fantastic if I could I'd give it 20 out of 20. The birds are all well drawn so colouring them is a delight. This book is a must if you enjoy colouring like me. It's no1 in my book. Thanks Lisa bonfire for a great book.

Excellent item! Pictures not too complex for young or old with a fold out colour page at the end to help younger ones with colour selection. Recommended!

Bought for someone who is going into hospital, who used to like colouring in birds, something a bit different to alleviate the boredom
