Front tire won't rotate once assembled - tight brake and bent caliper
*** Second Updated Review***After communicating with Sirdar, they sent me an entirely new bike. I'm guessing this is because the new part (brake caliper) and the repair (paid here at a bike shop) would have been pretty expensive. I assembled the bike and this one did not have the problem. I've since ridden the bike (around 10 miles) and it seems to work well. The company was easy to communicate with once we could speak by email. The amazon communication system is terrible as it does not allow creating threads with previous replies embedded, making conversation difficult.***Updated Review***Still one star. I figured out how to adjust the brake so that I could open the calipers. When i did this, the wheel was looser, but it was still sticking in the brake. I then realized that the brake was out of alignment. The picture shows that one of the washers is squished and that the caliper is not aligned with the rest of the wheel holder assembly. When the wheel is on (next picture) the disk rubs up against the caliper assembly. I'm unable to unscrew these bolts to realign the caliper because the bold appears to be bent. This appears to have been done during manufacturing and not during shipping since it would have taken a lot of force during assembly of the caliper to twist in this way.I'll be contacting the company and will update my review accordingly if they respond favorably and help me out.*original review*After following the instructions to the letter (though the written instructions were not very clear) and watching the video a couple dozen times, I tried multiple times to get the front tire on. The video, of course, makes it look so easy. I managed to get it on only to realize that the wheel barely rotates because the disc brake is too tight. I loosened it as far at it will go (i tried every screw on the disc break assembly) and it the tire still barely moved. The video indicates that there is some sort of black insert to remove from the brake before use, but I can't see anything on mine that looks that it should be taken off. I took the tire off and tried multiple times to put it back on, and it never easily slid on without having the disc in the break being really tight. There is a lot of information about the breaks in the instructions, but nothing about loosening them because they are too tight. I did find something rather humorous in the instructions, though, indicating that the bike should be assembled by a professional (that is dropped in randomly at the top of a page) even though the bike is touted as one that can be assembled at home with the help of a 3 minute video where everything clearly slides together perfectly.I'm not what I would call "handy", but I'm not completely lost with tools either. I've assembled the rest of the bike without a problem. I've assembled other things easily at home like a snow blower and countless toys for the kids, so I was surprised that a bike that cost this much that was so professionally packed and seemingly of high quality would have something so clearly wrong with it while lacking clear instructions for assembly. I'll revise this review if I figure it out later of if it was my fault for doing something wrong, but for now, I can't ride it after 2 hours of struggling with the assembly, so it'll get one star.

Defective threading, derailleur issues
I will update this, after I bring this product to a bicycle repair shop. I got this, despite the mixed reviews, in hopes that my purchase would not be defective. The hardware seems wonky to me, although I am no professional. 1 of 4 handlebar mounting bolts was not flush/dethreaded, this causes the handle bar to twist forward when you lean forward because you cannot make the connection tight enough with 3/4 bolts correctly threaded(not damaged)… I’m disappointed in the product… The derailleur was nowhere close to correct…only 2 of the 3 front gears, and 4 of 9 back gears could even be used, upon complete assembly. I didn’t know how to adjust this, so I watched a YouTube video… it’s pretty complicated, so I decided to bring to a shop to be done. I did however inspect the adjustable bolts on the derailleur assembly and they seem tinkered with and possibly damaged… in addition the frame has 2 large scuff marks that are unattractive, but would only bring this down 1 star for that cosmetic issue. The box it came in was in terrible condition, like it was thrown down 10 flights of stairs… my fear is that the shop will tell me that this bicycle is damaged to the point of replacing parts or having to return the bike… we will need new handlebar assembly parts, for sure… not sure if the bolt is dethreaded or if the housings thread was defective to begin with… pretty sure this was a previous return based on the condition of the box, the defective handlebar assembly, and what appears to be derailleur damage as well 😞 if I can get speedy replacement parts that actually work with minimal assembly, I understand a derailleur that needs minimal adjustment, but 6 of 27 gears upon assembly is not what I expected… may be requesting both derailleur and handlebar assembly, depending on what the bike shop tells me tomorrow 😞 this is my son’s Christmas gift 😞
