Nice thick blackout liner, if you secure it well it will keep out all light
This is a really well made blackout curtain! My new neighbor must be afraid of the dark. As soon as she bought the house right next to mine she immediately installed an intense spotlight, like it's own little mini-sun, that points towards my big ol' bungalow bedroom windows. Then she strung Edison bulbs all over the back and side yards layering them in a crazy pattern and keeps them going all night long. She also leaves her blinds open all day and night and has string lights all over the inside, always flashing. Her electric bill must equal her new mortgage. Our houses are only about 10 feet apart, we live in an old neighborhood were the homes are packed in together like little sardines in a can, like little shotgun style houses. After speaking with her, I realize that she is not so much a jerk, just completely oblivious to the suffering she causes others as she stomps about through life, literally ruining my dreams (of a good sleep). These blackout curtains have saved her life.I previously bought some lovely velvet, moss green blackout drapes, which were lined and very well made but still allowed the megawatts from next door to blast through, disturbing my sleep. I bought these blackout curtain liners to try, before resorting to covering my windows with plywood.I hung them with tension rods using the rod pockets at top and wedged them in, hanging the velvet blackout drapes in front.Ahhh, peaceful darkness. The other night I slept so soundly I completely forgot my neighbor existed. Bliss. These blackout liners also seem to help cut down on the heat coming through the glass when closed. Being that we live in Florida that's a big plus.In the future I plan to tack down the outer sides of the blackout liners, since there is still a bit of light intrusion near the sides where the the liners hang free.Still, what a difference! Now if I could just find a way to keep my neighbor from blowing her horn when she locks her car at 3am. My headboard is 12 feet from her car hood. Startles me from sleep, every time!HONK HONK!!!!!

Does the job!
Needed to block the light to watch television and didn't want the expense of custom blinds. Tried these blackout liners to remove the glare and they work well. You do need to remove the curtains to install the drapery hooks and it is easier to then hang the liner. Put the hooks into the curtain and if you need to you can overlap the liner to block all light even where two panels meet once they are hung. These work so well I ordered a second set to block the light on the sliding door that has the same thin, semi sheer curtains. The hooks are easy to use, you could pinch them closed with pliers if you plan on opening and closing the curtains often.

Color has a grayish hue. Not bright white.
These were much heavier weight than I had anticipated. They also were not truly white, they have a grayish hue.

Perfect!
I needed something to block the light from coming in from the sheer pleated drapes hanging across my sliding glass doors. The light reflected on my TV and I couldn't watch it. These are PERFECT! I didn't use the provided hooks. Instead, I simply added these curtains to the hooks that were already on my drapes... It was a little tricky, but once I figured it out... I can now watch TV even when the sun is blasting the sliders. A fabulous product! Plus, I didn't experience any smell like some of the other reviewers. Three of these curtains would have been ideal, but two worked just fine.

A guaranteed blackout
These panels block out the sun completely. Most blackout curtains aren’t very stylish. With these panels, I can make any pretty lightweight curtain seem like a blackout curtain

True blackout but terrible off gassing, photo comparison
I am changing curtains and I chose are not blackout (compared to my previous one which were true blackout “night during the day” from westelm. Tied a few liners incl from ikea and (picture) west elm. As much I liked blackout curtains from those stores lines were disappointing. West elm was fine with 2 layers (curtain and liner) but I was concerned that during summer times and bright early mornings in PNW, those won’t be enough. Decided to give a shot to those from amazon. And liner itself blackouts the room. Left are from from amazon, right are west elm. Not a sunny day. Also a photo with curtain on top.The only negative is a terrible off gassing. I put them into garage for a few days before k make a decision. Do not want to wash as I’m concerned they won’t hold light that well.Quality wise it’s ok. West elm is def more high end and feels / look better. But as that’s a liner, I do not care. Those looks fine and have some movement to them

KEEPS THE COLD OUT
I wanted something that could keep my bedroom warm. The fabric are just the right amount of thickness. Unfortunately, the hooks are worthless. I used double-sided velcro, which worked well.

I wish it had a different way of attaching it to my curtain.
The sheerness is just what I was looking for.

Black-out great; affixing to pleated drapes frustrating
The black-out feature is great, but tricky attaching to pleated curtains coz the liner loops fall off of the hooks (I used pliers to make the hook loops narrower) and attached to the curtain so the liner fits below where the curtain hooks attach to our rod, which has individual loops for each hook. (Hope this makes sense!) I also had to shorten the liner to adjust for the new length. Also difficult to remove liner wrinkles with low-heat ironing. But, the liners also help to keep the cold out. Worth the effort.

Super blackout and helps with heat!
These work great! They really did my already blackout curtains a FULL and complete blackout! Really helps keep my room cool from south facing windows! Also comes with 20 hooks total. Great product. Slightly wrinkled out of the package but I don't even see them so it doesn't matter

I love this blackout liner!
I'm so happy that I purchased this blackout liner. It fits perfectly behind my bedroom drapes (and installed quickly on the rod that was already in place for the previous flimsy liner). Wow, almost total darkness at night. This works better than the blackout drapes I purchased in the past for other windows.

Excellent buy
I wanted to put up wall-to-wall linen curtains in our guest room, but also needed blackout coverage over the window. Couldn’t find ones I liked, so I got these blackout liners and they are perfect! Curtains are semi-sheer and the blackout lining only extends partway, but you cannot tell. Very pleased with the result.
