Q: What size mattress should i use to fill the tent to it fullest without popping out of the tent? Wanting a nice snug fit

We have a queen mattress in it. It was a challenge to put it in but is a perfect snug fit.

Q: The description says it has an open bottom, but the reviews say there's a thin material bottom. Which is it? Also is the mesh screen mosquito proof?

Yes thin bottom. Not sure on bugs…I would think so…we have only used it in a bedroom

Q: Does this have a pouch somewhere on top to place an ipad/phone anywhere for movies?

It has an interior hook from ceiling eg for flashlight. But it swings freely. An ipad could be hung but would rotate. Note.... no screen for indoor bugs. I returned this in favor of an actual bed tent.
