Working for me doing monotypes
I like that it is easy to clean up, that the viscosity is good for how I'm using it, which is for monotypes.

Lovely color
Love the color, but tube was too full and lost some color upon opening. The tube was squashed, it should have been shipped in a box, not an envelope.

Daniel Smith Water Soluble Oil
My favorite water soluble oil paint is Daniel Smith. Easy to paint with and vibrant colors. The mixed white works great and isnt as thick as titanium white.

True color
Color is good and dense. A little stiff but ok with a little linseed oil.

Quality Product
Daniel Smith Hansa Yellow Light is a beautiful color. Quality shows in the color and ease of use when painting. Not too stiff. I definitely like this product.

Great paint but clearly very old
Clearly it’s been sitting on a shelf for a very long time. Much of the oil had leaked out all over the bag, and hardened. Had to scrub the whole thing down with thinner to even use it.Thankfully the paint in the tube seems to be fine but it wasted 20 minutes cleaning it up so that my drawer wouldn’t be a mess.

Very runny, may be counterfeit
I’ve been using water soluble oil paints for a number of years, mostly Holbein and Winsor &Newton. This is my first tube of Daniel Smith. I was really disappointed to see how runny this paint is, the consistency is unlike any paint I’ve seen. It does not adhere well to the canvas, and doesn’t have consistent pigmentation. I wouldn’t advise using it on its own, although I did get ok results using a small amount of this manganese colour when mixing with other colours. Too much of this in a mix results in a very thin, runny blob of useless paint, and wastes any good quality paint mixed with it.This may be a counterfeit, but as it’s my first Daniel Smith water soluble oil paint, I have nothing to compare it with.
