Great calibrated flow rate for your drip system
I'm new to drip irrigation, so I made the mistake of starting with emitters with an adjustable flow rate. I wish I had started with these- I just finished replacing about 70 adjustable-flow emitters with these fixed-rate ones, and I've ordered more. (With adjustable flow emitters, the flow rate changes every time you have a change in pressure from adding more emitters to the line, or changing the slope traversed by the supply line, or changing the supply pressure, etc. With these fixed-rate emitters, as long as you're meeting the minimum required pressure level, you're getting consistent flow rates.) They also fit onto my 1/4" tubing without having to soften the tubing with a lighter, and without tearing up my fingers jamming them in. Surprisingly they still stay attached to the 1/4" line perfectly, in fact it takes a healthy yank to pull them off. I ordered several of the 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 gal/hr emitters, and I use the 1.0's on most medium-sized plants, 2.0's on bigger trees, and 0.5's for small flowing plants and herbs. Small quality-control problem, though- 1 came broken, and 4 were shooting a directed spray instead of dribbling like they're supposed to, which fixed itself by just capping off the flow with my finger for a few seconds, then they worked fine. Great value, good units- remember to also buy some plastic stakes to keep them in place. Also, if you're attaching to 1/2" line with 1/4" pigtails, you may want to attach with 1/4" on/off valves instead of straight-through couplers, so you can easily turn individual ones off. I put valves on the pigtails for the harder-to-reach emitters and on ones I use in my temporary plant staging area.

work well, but flow rate is way off on orange one
I purchased the black 1g/hr, the blue 2gal/hr, and the orange 4gal/hr. I was getting flooding in areas that had the orange emitters which motivated me to test all types.I tried two random samples from each color, and the variation between samples was relatively small (10%). They all ran at a faster rate than advertised, but the orange was nearly double the flow rate. The measured inlet pressure was 35-40psi, so this may account for running slightly faster as the ideal pressure for drip lines is 25psi, but it doesn't excuse the orange one. These are pressured compensated emitters after all.I do like that they tend not to clog easily and can be cleared if they do.black (spec 1gal/hr) measured ~1.2gal/hrblue (spec 2gal/hr) measured ~2.5gal/hrorange (spec 4gal/hr) measured ~7.5gal/hrThe flow rate of the orange is so high it's not useful to me.

Junk
These drippers have NO way to adjust the flow of water like advertised, they are either on or off they used false advertisement just to sell their products. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Sometimes an uneven drip
These are very good. We have a very large garden and so, we have found that sometimes the last row of plants aren't watered as much as the others. Overall, great purchase.
