Little Red Sleigh: A Heartwarming Christmas Book For Children (Little Heroes, Big Hearts)

This book has a cute story line, it is illustrated beautifully, we enjoy reading it in December!

This story is much better than I even imagined it would be. It’s so cute and even kept my two year olds interest! The illustrations are beautiful and aid in bringing in that Christmas spirit. Such a great book.

This book is great, I love the message behind it and it’s so cute.Some things I like about this book is:1. The message is really great and teaches kids that in order to get what you want, it takes work and time to get there.2. It teaches Patience3. It teaches that everyone has a different purpose in life.4. And it teaches you are good enough just the way you are.I think it would be great if they came out with a few books similar to this one but for different holidays.

I purchased this book for my grand niece and nephew after reading the reviews of this book, but not actually reading the story in its entirety beforehand. The storyline is cute and centers upon the Little Red Sleigh, who is young, but wants to become Santa's sleigh. Everyone discourages her, saying she can not do that as she is too young and can not fly. But she sets out to prove them wrong, trying to make it to the North Pole before Christmas Eve. Along the way, she has adults who help her in her trek to the North Pole. She almost succeeds, except for a snowstorm, that stops her in her tracks before Christmas arrives. The story has.a moral lesson to it, mainly that you can not have everything you want instantly, as it takes time to learn all you need to know first, and you spend your life building upon those learning blocks in order to move ahead. The one thing that bothered me about the actual story was that all the adults Little Red Sleigh comes in contact with while helping her find her way to the North Pole always refer to Santa Claus as the "Big Man" and never once as Santa, while Little Red Sleigh knows him as that. While there is nothing wrong with nicknames, young children are constantly learning from others what is acceptable when referring to others. While Big Man is not obnoxious, I did not like seeing in this book. The illustrations are the highlight of this book to me. The artist is very talented. Her drawings are colorful, and cute. They coincided with the story line, and helped to make the book the success it is today.

My 3 year old love the book. Must read it to him many times each day.
