Product description One capsule contains 500mg sodium propionate. Propital contains the salt of a short-chain fatty acid (sodium propionate). Propital is vegan, gluten and lactose free. The capsule shell is made of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose. It is therefore a purely vegetable capsule. Propital is a food additive and contains pure sodium propionate without the addition of undesirable additives, flavors or colors. Sodium propionate is the pure salt of propionic acid. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) classifies the short-chain edible acid as safe for use as a food additive.
