This tape is great if you know how to use it. I first saw the tape over 40 years ago. We use it in the aviation industry it's electrical tape that only sticks to itself but you put it on properly and it's waterproof. silicone rubber tape has no adhesive, but sticks to itself (self-fuses or self amalgamating) when stretched and wrapped onto itself. The tapes starts curing within minutes, and after several hours cannot be unwound or removed without using a sharp knife or blade. "that's why it's separated by the clear plastic"

I'm not sure which is of worse quality, this tape or the "expandable" garden hose for which I purchased it. I filled the hose and found two leaks; I marked them before turning the hose off and drying it as well as possible. I then applied the tape, making sure to not skimp on the amount used. I turned the hose back on, only to find that the hose STILL leaks from behind the tape. Save your money and don't buy one of those silly hoses in the first place - then you won't have to suffer the frustration of having wasted money on it and this tape.

I got this to seal a shark bite connection that I’m burying in the ground. It was recommended to use silicone tape. This works fine for this application and provides a good seal to itself, even though it doesn’t have any adhesive. It’ll stretch.

I use this tape mostly on my bicycles. It allows me to create a base for some accessories on my handle bars. This tape is fairly easy to use and keeps things like a bell, headlight and taillights to stay in place. Sometimes, the items are not the correct size and will not stay on with rolling around. Rescue tape fits tightly and will not unravel. It needs to be pulled tightly (stretching) and it adheres to itself giving a very tight bond. If could wrap around a leaking water hose to prevent water from spraying everywhere.

So this is not tape, and you need to know that before buying it. You have to use this in the same way you’d use gause to wrap a wound. I read other reviews and so many people are upset, sort of rightfully so because it’s not like the “tape” came with instructions but by reading the other reviews is how I understood how to use it. It’s not sticky, but it’s great quality and its ability to stretch is where the value within it lies. You have to use small amounts wrap it tight, and wrap whatever it is multiple times. The “tape” does what it is supposed to and almost melts into itself. It’s heat resistant and has held very well for what I needed it for (patching a tube I couldn’t replace on my vehicle under the hood).

I would not recommend this for irrigation piping. The point still leaks even with wrapping it tight. It worked ok for me temporarily because the water that drips after wrapping just drips slower on the plants.

I used this wrapped around a repaired hose end on a zero g hose. I cut off the old end fused to my hose bib. Ordered a brass 1/2 inch hose end replacement connector and installed it, wrapped the hose end with this product then clamped it. Hose does not leak! I’m very happy with this product. Self sealing, easy to apply and nice color. 5 stars!

I used it for a leak in my water hose and it didn't work.It was only 5 bucks so I gave it a try.This product dose not work.
