I bought these to replace the rockwool that I had been previously using due to algae issues. I didn't really like these though for 2 reasons.First, they have a rounded bottom and if you don't buy the specific tray for them(more money) then they'll wont stand up and just keep falling over. I ended up trimming the bottom with a knife to remedy this, but that made them smaller.Second, the algae was actually worse with these plugs then with the rockwool.Bottom line would be that they did get the job done with some alterations, all clones survived and did well in there new home.

I am not that familiar with these kinds of products, so I may not be using them as well as I could. However, I'm trying to grow basil in one of these and it's been growing very very slowly. I'm not sure if it's me or the product.It is a neat idea though. If I can figure out how to make better use of them, I might get more.

I like the fact they arrived moist and are taller than most seed starters

Bought these for use in an Aerogarden. Answer to a previous question said it would fit but these will need some significant (40-50%?) tailoring to accomplish that - they’re much too thick to fit in the plastic cages. They arrive in a ziplock-type bag and are moist.
