You think things are clean? Then don't buy this. It is startling how much crud exists in a normal house, from remnant puppy pee stains to little boy wall splatter in the toilet to the wall above/beside your stove. I knew my pup had made a few messes on our carpets, and certainly believed they were cleaned properly and completely. WRONG!As for the unit itself, it is a pretty hefty metal job you'll not want to drop on your toe. Remember the batteries are not included (3x AA) which is fine given the price point.All in all very pleased - and shocked. So now the quest becomes locating a cleaning agent to eliminate all the 'discoveries'.

Here’s the skinny:At first I didn’t think it worked at all because all I could see were little fuzz balls glowing on the carpet, but then later I tried it with my blue light blocking glasses (also from amazon) and..umm...it definitely works with them. Discovered that my dog has not just had a few accidents on the dining room rug, but MANY. Great. 😬 Can’t wait to check the basement level where my cats like to hang out! As others stated, it needs to be super dark.Pick up your flashlight and blue light blocking glasses and let the horror show begin....Word to the wise, Buy an enzyme cleaner in advance too. And maybe a pressure washer. Basically we’ve now spent 350$ through this discovery. lol

The item's power output is about 1.35 watt max, I measured using a multimeter (0.3Ax4.5v=1.35W) So in a room with white silk curtains closed and the sunlight is indirect, this UV flashlight is usable. However, as soon as you open any curtains or if the sunlight is somewhat direct, it is nearly impossible to see the pet urine on the carpet (even with brand new alkaline batteries). The build quality is decent for the price (full aluminum).

I purchased this blue led lamp to better detect and clean my little dog's accidents, and so far this Esco-lite blue UV lamp kept its promises as good as more expensive brands, I'm definitely not disappointed, and even recommended it to my colleagues who have cats peeing on hidden places. I'd buy it again if I had to !

Definitely did not detect any urine on my carpets(which I know is there, and the reason for buying this light) I did see dog slobber on my walls that I thought were clean. However some slobber mixed food didn't glow. Overall didn't love this light, but my 3 year old thought is was fun. It does however warm up pretty quickly
