Perfect for rodent prevention
My washer and dryer are in the garage. Unfortunately with wild fires and other weather related issues, rats, racoons, skunks, etc. have become an issue in my area. Rats I think chewed through the water line for my washing machine and I am tired of paying for people to replace the hose for me. This turned out to be a good solution and after a couple months has held up. No more chewed water lines.

Super protection
If you need to protect an electrical cord, this is the way to go. After cutting the cord to my hedge trimmer decided on this. A bit of a hassle to install but fits the bill perfectly. Probably could have bough a smaller diameter but that would make installation even harder.

Chew on this.
This was purchased solely to protect wires in my home from a zealous incorrigible rabbit. They work fantastically for this application. Side note used a dremel to cut to size. Could do with a plastic cover for ends to protect self from frayed stainless steel wire and or electrical shock if the cover slides into the socket. Great product. Many more cords to cover, will purchase again.

Many uses!
I bought this to cover a fuel line on my Harley Davidson that runs between the cylinders. This braided material is 304 Stainless and installs easily. You will need to use a pair scissors to cut it to the length you need won’t cut very well otherwise . Works well with wiring projects too the flexibility is perfect. I will buy again when I need more!

A mouse kept chewing holes in our dishwasher hoses
We bought this to protect our dishwasher drain hose which a mouse keeps chewing through. Our hoses are so tasty the mouse walks right past the half dozen traps we set for it and happily munches on plastic. We have replaced 3 hoses so far and this time I put the wire braid sleeve over it.As far as the product goes I’m really impressed with it. It’s much heavier and thicker quality than I was expecting. I bought the 1” braid because the ends of the drain hose are 1”. My boyfriend thought there was no way the sleeve was big enough but he clearly had never played with a Chinese finger puzzle before and I showed him how you have to push the braid in on itself to make it bigger. The ends do fray a little and it is prickly to work with but it was far less hassle than replacing a drain hose. I do recommend inserting a broom handle into the sleeve to open it up a little first. The wire is sturdy and it wants to stay flat at first.I hope this helps.

No more chewed cables with new puppy!
I looked at a bunch of products to protect cables from getting chewed by the new puppy (she's very, very chew happy). All of them had reviews that indicated they didn't hold up long - some not more than a few minutes, even! Not this stuff, though - she tied to chew a couple more times, couldn't get through, and just stopped trying. I suspect the metal mesh doesn't feel good on the teeth - she wants something that gives a little, I think. This stuff is bulletproof, though.Installation is a little tricky. Expanding the mesh to stuff the cable into it is sort of like trying to stuff a wet noodle down a snakes throat - but you get there eventually. I ended up cutting the mesh with some utility scissors. Side cutters, nippers, etc didn't work at all. I used a zippy strap on each end to keep the mesh in place, then wrapped the ends with some Gorilla tape to cover the fraying on the ends. I could have used heat shrink tubing on the audio wires, but that'd be difficult on power plugs in most cases. Gorilla tape worked for everything.Highly recommended product!

Great product!
I'm so frustrated with this product right now. Ordered the first one and it worked great! The second and third, both the wrong length. I am using it to cover rubber hosing for fuel transfer from my diesel and gas tanks. The hoses are ten feet long. But the second and third have both been about 2' short despite saying 10' on the plastic wrapper.I'm using the 3/4" diameter on a roughly 1" diameter hose. I guess I'll try, try again and hope the fourth time is a charm.Update: I'm the problem. Turns out that the hose diameter disparity caused the shortness in length. The more you stretch the diameter the more length you lose.

Tough stuff, great for squirrel-proofing
I bought this for "squirrel abatement" as a wrap for patio light cords that got chewed through. To install it I had to cut it to length and then split it lengthwise. I used a pair of Fiskars shop scissors that worked very well with no apparent damage to the scissors. The only issues when cutting it are that it produces fine, needle-sharp pieces of wire. Gloves and eye protection are a must. Just wrapped it around the first couple feet of cord and wrapped the whole thing with stainless safety wire. Looks ugly as hell but I don't think the squirrels will want to mess with it.
